Description: Open any completed inspection, read what its signature count is telling you, and add your signature when one is outstanding.
Overview
Inspection History is the site's record of completed inspections, listed in date order, newest first.
It's also where a signature is added when one is outstanding: a form that needs two signatures sits unfinished until someone provides the second, and the Signatures column is what tells you.
Before You Begin
To read history: any role on the site.
To add a signature: any ComplianceGo role on the site — including Site Viewer. Signing is a capability rather than a privileged role.
Where It Is
Open the site.
Under Inspections and Action Items, click Inspection History.
💡 The site's QR code is a shortcut to the same place. Scanning it opens that site's page, so someone standing on site can reach its history without hunting for it. It's a convenience, not a shortcut around permissions — you still sign in and still need a role on the site.
Reading the List
Each row is one completed inspection:
Column | What it shows |
Inspection Form Used | Which form the inspection was run on |
Signatures | How many signatures it has, out of how many it needs |
Date | The inspection date |
Type | An icon for weather-triggered inspections; blank for a standard one |
Inspector | Who ran it |
Action Items | How many action items it opened |
Signatures reads signatures collected out of signatures the form requires, and a form can require more than two — 2 / 3 and 3 / 4 are normal. Three states:
1 / 1 with a checkmark — fully signed.
1 / 2 with a Sign button — a signature is outstanding and you can give it.
1 / 2 with no button — a signature is outstanding but you can't add it from here. The button appears when the inspection is completed, still needs a signature, and you hold a role on the site. The usual reason it's absent is that the inspection is currently Under Revision rather than completed.
📝 An in-progress inspection isn't here yet. Until it's signed off it lives in the site's In-progress group, not in history.
Adding a Second Signature
📝 A form can need more than two signatures. How many is set on the form, so you may see 2 / 3 or 3 / 4. Each signature fills the next slot in order, and the count goes up by one as each is added.
Find the row with a signature outstanding — for example 1 / 2 — and click Sign.
The inspection opens at its signature block.
Sign as usual — see Completing an Inspection for the signature step.
Rereading or Changing a Past Inspection
Click anywhere else on the row to open the inspection. A completed inspection opens read-only.
To change something it has to be reopened, which moves it to Under Revision. It keeps the form version it was originally run on, so the report always regenerates correctly — see Understanding Inspection Statuses.
📝 The report is rebuilt from the record, not stored as a snapshot. Details read live from the site — contacts, for instance — show today's values, so a report reprinted today won't match a copy printed last year.
FAQ
Q: I can't find an inspection I know was done.
A: It hasn't been completed. Only signed-off inspections appear in history — check the site's Due, In-progress or Late groups.
Q: A row needs another signature but I don't see a Sign button.
A: The button appears when the inspection is completed, still needs a signature, and you hold a role on the site. The usual reason it's missing is that the inspection has been reopened and is Under Revision — it has to be completed again before another signature can be added. It's rarely about your role: any role on the site can sign, including Site Viewer.
Q: I opened an inspection but can't edit it.
A: Completed inspections are read-only. Reopen it and it moves to Under Revision.
Q: The list looks like it's missing rows.
A: The list is paged. Check the paging controls at the bottom.
Q: I need history across many sites at once.
A: This page is per site. Organization-level reporting is run from the organization's own reports area.
