Your inventory is the lifeblood of your business and managing its data is a critical element of your success. Information Management

Every device in Beacon has its own identifying details, statuses, and dispositions. Every device is unique. This article helps you understand the data related to your inventory so you can get the most value out of Beacon.

Make sure you stay in stock by reviewing your inventory levels. Particularly when it comes to trunk inventory, you won't want to run out of critical devices for an upcoming surgery.

Same as above, but perhaps even more important. When you're always on the move, managing trunk stock inventory on your phone is a challenge. Make sure you know how much you have.

Inventory hold statuses can be helpful to prevent inventory from being sold before it is ready for sale. For instance, perhaps it must be inspected prior to sale.

Packs are a type of inventory that allow you to list a bill of materials of its contents to represent all of the individual devices that may be provided to a case within a sterile packaged kit.

The weight can be useful data when calculating shipping and can be stored in the catalog.

If not already included in the UDI, the Manufactured date may be entered in the inventory detail screen.

Facility Stock

Facility stock is inventory sold directly to a facility, which is converted to 'Facility Stock' instead of being deactivated. This allows its inevitable use in a case to be recorded for patient records, without the sale. Different from trunk inventory that you may consign to a hospital, Facility Stock has already been sold.

This article will show you how to construct an event to create Facility Stock. The inventory is sold via an event type called Stocking Order, but then is converted to facility stock inventory instead of being consumed in the sale.

Learn how to view and filter inventory to review Facility Stock. It's important to know how much inventory is in your warehouse inventory, what's in your trunk inventory, and what has been sold into Facility Stock so you can adequately manage the inventory needs of the customer.

Searching and Reporting

Important for finding your inventory and reviewing stock levels, make sure you know how to locate a device or container!

Scanning barcodes is probably the easiest way to search for or mark used inventory. Whether you're in a case and marking inventory as used or scanning devices in your trunk stock to assign them new locations, scanning will cut down on the time involved significantly.

If you don't have a barcode to scan, but you do have your UDI, you may be able to use our AI to recognize the text in an image.

Consigned inventory can be a handful to keep track of, whether it's at your warehouse, stored at a facility, in your colleague's trunk stock, or in your trunk inventory. This feature adds flexibility within your distributorship so you can manage your inventory how you want.

Audits and Edits

Stock adjustment events may be used to decrement inventory that no longer exists or for some other reason must be removed without a sale.

If you're looking for a more complete audit of your inventory, try using our Audit feature to collect counts and make adjustments to your inventory.

After you enter your physical inventory counts, Beacon is able to automatically reconcile variances using transfers to a designated Discrepant Custodian.

This article shows you how to manually deactivate a device, but we recommend using Stock Adjustment events to consume inventory in most cases.
