Sometimes an organization finds themselves in a situation where an individual has had more than one user account created for them (perhaps multiple administrators each created a user account for that person, the user had an old account that was forgotten about so a new account was created, etc.). If you want the user to just have one account that has all the data from the multiple accounts, you can merge the accounts to accomplish this.
