How to build your online course in the Course Studio: from course info to modules, lessons and quizzes, all the way to the certificate and publishing.
With the Course Studio you create your own online courses right inside Cope – with modules, lessons, quizzes and a completion certificate. This guide walks you through every step.
Tip: The video above walks through the whole process together. This guide recaps everything so you can read along.
Step 1: Create a new course
Click Course Studio in the left sidebar.
Click Create course in the top right.
You'll land directly in the course editor, where you'll first add your course info.
Step 2: General information & access
Enter the basics of your course:
Course name – the title of your course (required).
Description – what your course is about (max. 300 characters, required).
Course image – upload an image at the top to showcase your course.
Next, under Access type, decide how learners can access the course:
Public – Free access for everyone
Paid – Available after purchase
Under Linked products, you can connect one or more products to the course. When someone buys a linked product, they automatically get access to the course.
Tip: Click Save changes in the top right regularly so nothing gets lost.
Step 3: Add modules
Modules are the chapters of your course and structure your content.
Click Add module.
Enter a Module name (required) and an optional Description.
Under Release settings, choose when the module becomes available (e.g. Immediately – available right away).
Click Add.
Step 4: Add lessons
Inside a module you create the individual lessons.
On the module, click Add lesson.
Enter a Lesson name (required).
Optionally set the Estimated duration (minutes).
Click Add.
Step 5: Build your lesson content
Open a lesson and add your content using the Elements panel (on the right). These blocks are available:

Video – video content
Image – images
File – downloadable files
URL – links
Audio – audio files
Code – code blocks
Spacing – empty space between elements
Divider – a visual separator
Click the element you want to add it to the lesson, then edit it directly in the editor.
Step 6: Add a quiz (optional)
Use a quiz to test your learners' knowledge.
Click Add quiz.
Set the Quiz name, Description and % to pass.
Optionally: turn on Randomize question order, set a Time limit (minutes), and use Show correct answers to decide whether and when solutions are shown.
Click Add, then add your questions.
These question types are available:
True/false
Single choice – one correct answer
Multiple Choice – several correct answers
Fill-in-the-Blank
For each question you set the Points and mark the correct answer(s).
Step 7: Set up a certificate (optional)
You can award your learners a completion certificate.
Open the ⋮ menu in the top left and click Certificate.
Turn on the Enable Certificates toggle.
Customize the certificate via Template Style, Certificate Text, Colors and Images (e.g. signature and background).
Save your settings.
The Preview shows you what the certificate looks like at any time.
Step 8: Preview & publish
Click Preview at the top to check the course from a learner's perspective.
Once everything's ready, change the status in the top left from Draft to Published.
Click Save changes.
Done – your course is now live! 🎉
