MailChimp is a powerful marketing platform focused on email marketing automation. It allows businesses to create, send, and analyze email campaigns, enhancing customer engagement and streamlining communication.

Create a MailChimp Account and Connect to Corksy

  1. Visit MailChimp:

    • Go to mailchimp.com and click on the "Sign Up Free" button.

    • Enter your email, username, and password.

    • Click "Sign Up" to create your account.

  2. Activate Account:

    • Check your email for a verification link and click on it to activate your account.

  3. Set Up Your Account:

    • Fill in details like your business name, website URL, and address.

  4. Configure API Key:

    • Navigate to "Account Settings" -> "Extras" -> "API Keys".

    • Generate a new API Key to connect MailChimp to your application.

  5. Connect API Key to Corksy:

    • Copy the generated API Key.

    • Log into your Corksy admin account at admin.corksy.io.

    • Go to Developer Tools.

    • Click on "Profile" or your account name in the bottom-left corner.

    • From the menu, select "Extras" -> "API Keys".

  6. Create a Connected App:

    • Scroll down to the OAuth2 Clients section.

    • Click on "Register Your App" or "Create a New App".

    • Fill in the necessary App Details and assign the Redirect URL from Corksy.

  7. Access Client ID and Client Secret:

    • After creating the app, copy the Client ID and Client Secret displayed on the app details page.

  8. Connect MailChimp:

    • Enter the API key into Corksy's admin settings to map required fields like email and name.

    • Save the configuration to complete the integration.

  9. Test the Integration:

    • Send a test email from Corksy to ensure the integration is working correctly.

Using Corksy Segments for email marketing

Segments Overview:

The Segments feature in Corksy's admin portal allows you to create and manage customer segments for targeted marketing campaigns.

Segment Page Overview

  • Segment Name: Identifies the segment.

  • Created On: Date of segment creation.

  • Customer Count: Number of customers in the segment.

  • Status: Indicates if the segment is active or inactive.

  • Actions: Options to view or delete the segment.

View Customers

You can view the details of customers who opted in for emails during order placement, including:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email

  • DOB (Date of Birth)

  • Phone Number

View Send Details

This section provides information about marketing emails sent to customers:

  • Send On: Date the email was sent.

  • Send To: Platform used for marketing (MailChimp or Klaviyo).

  • Tag: Associated tag name for the campaign.

  • Status: Delivery status (successful or failed).

  • View: Access to detailed customer information.

Send Emails

To send emails to a segment:

  1. Campaign: Choose a marketing platform (MailChimp or Klaviyo) from the dropdown menu.

  2. Enter Tag Name: Specify a tag name for the campaign.

  3. Save: Once saved, the email campaign will be synced, and emails can then be sent through the selected marketing platform.

Delete Segments

  • Segments can be deleted if they are no longer needed by clicking the Delete button in the Actions column.

Create Segments

You can create a new segment by selecting a segment type and configuring it.

Segment Types:

  • Abandoned Cart: Customers who abandoned their carts within a specified number of days.

  • All Customers: Includes all customers in the database.

  • Customer Purchased X Times: Targets customers who have made a certain number of purchases.

  • Successful Purchase: Customers who made successful purchases within a specified number of days.
