Did you know that your CCK website can automatically be translated by internet browsers such as Google Chrome? This means that you will only have to create your website pages in one language instead of having to create your web pages in multiple languages.
Watch the video below to go through the steps required to check that your CCK website is ready to be translated.
If you want your CCK website to be available in multiple languages, we recommend that you start by updating your website settings to your main language and current time zone. To do this, click on the Settings icon on the left-hand side of your screen and update the details under the Website Language and Website Time Zone headings. This will set your navigation buttons, website system messages and website warnings to the language you have chosen:
By setting your main website language and time zone, your website will automatically be translated into another language by browsers such as Google Chrome (if a visitor opens your website from another location).
If any visitor opens your website in Google Chrome, for example, you will notice that Google Translate automatically offers to translate your website into their native language. You can see the Google Translate option at the top of your Chrome browser, as shown below:
Google Translate
Google Chrome automatically translates all foreign-language websites for you. To check your Google Translate settings, you can open any foreign language website in Google Chrome and click on the three dots at the top right of your screen. You can then click on the Settings option.
Next, click on Languages. When you open languages, we suggest that you set your preferred language, activate Google Translate and also list the languages you want Google Translate to automatically translate for you. By doing this, all foreign language websites will automatically be translated for you the next time you open the website.
