Introduction
Circles in CCK can serve as the foundation for a course, community, or membership area. You can build out lessons, chat spaces, or full programme hubs, and then easily embed them on a public or private website page.
This guide walks you through the process of creating a Circle, building out its structure, and displaying it beautifully on a page using the Circle widget.
Create your Circle (Community or Course)
Before you embed anything, you’ll need to create and publish your Circle.
Go to your Community (Circle) area.
Click + Create Circle.
Choose to start from a blank template or use a pre-built one.
Give it a name (e.g. “Course A”) and publish it.
You can leave the advanced settings and styling for later; you can tweak those once your content is in place.
Add pages to your Circle
Structure your content by adding pages or page groups inside your Circle:
Use single pages for simple layouts (e.g. one module = one page).
Use page groups for multi-lesson modules (e.g. Module 1: Lesson 1, Lesson 2).
You can add:
Video playlists with hosted videos on CCK.
Discussion boards to replace tools like Slack.
Submit-a-question forms, FAQs, or call replays.
Forums or walls for themed discussions and voting.
Tip: Set each page’s Access Level to 'Inherit from Parent' so your visibility settings apply across the entire Circle.
Customise your content layout
Inside each page, add the widgets and blocks you need:
Video Playlist widget for multiple hosted videos.
Single Video block for one video per page.
Enable manual watched tracking to allow users to track their progress.
You can add comments, descriptions, or chapters depending on your video settings.
Use spacing and styling options to adjust the appearance. Experiment with sidebar positioning, background colour, and container width to achieve the best fit.
Preview and refine
After adding your content:
Click Preview to see how your Circle appears to a user.
You can adjust the page layout, menu visibility, and spacing to suit your design.
Remove or hide unnecessary headers to achieve a cleaner view.
Add the Circle to a website page
To embed your Circle on a page:
Open the Page Builder and select or create your target page.
Add a new empty block where you want the Circle to appear.
Click Add Widget > Circle Widget.
Choose your Circle from the dropdown (e.g. “Course A”).
Adjust spacing or container size as needed.
Preview the page to see your Circle embedded.
You can make the widget full-width, boxed, or centred depending on your page layout.
Set visibility and access permissions
To control who can view the Circle:
Open your Circle and go to Settings > Access.
Choose one of the following:
Open – Anyone can view.
Logged-in members only – Must have an account.
Members of a group – Assigned after purchase or enrolment.
Payment required – Displays a checkout prompt.
Tip: For selling access, we recommend using a funnel and checkout page, then redirecting users to the Circle via a thank-you page for more flexibility and control.
Additional Settings and Tips
Use member groups to grant access automatically after purchase.
Customise styling (colours, fonts, layout) once your content is finalised.
Preview as a logged-out user to confirm that restricted content is hidden correctly.
Duplicate pages to speed up course creation when you have a repeating structure.
What to Do Next
You can build out your Circle with your modules, videos, and support content.
Test access settings and preview from both a member's and a non-member's perspective.
Add the Circle to your website and customise the layout to match your brand.
Conclusion
Adding a Circle widget to your CCK website allows you to showcase your community or course in a fully integrated way. Whether it’s a standalone course, a coaching hub, or a member-only space, this setup gives you complete control over structure, styling, and access.
