Once you have added your PayFast Merchant ID, Key and Passphrase, you should test your account by conducting a test purchase on your CCK account.
In this article, we will go through the steps to do this.
Create Test Product & Discount Code
Open your CCK dashboard > Store > Products.
Click on +Add Product and select the type of product.
Add your product details and click Save.
Go to Store > Discounts and create a Discount code.
Use a checkout page on your account.
Make sure that the setting on the checkout widget is set to Allow Discounts.
Make sure that the test product is added to the settings on the checkout widget.
Conduct a test purchase.
Testing Subscription Products
It is important to note that testing subscription products can't be processed with a 100% discount code. Payfast has a minimum order amount of R5.00 to successfully process a subscription purchase.
Follow the steps below to test a subscription payment:
Open your CCK dashboard > Store > Products.
Click on +Add Product and select the type of product.
Set the price to R5.00
Select the Subscription Product option.
Update the subscription billing cycle.
Add the rest of your product details and click Save.
Use a checkout page on your CCK website or funnel.
Add the test product to the settings on the checkout widget.
Conduct a test purchase using your credit card.
📌 Please note that your card will be charged the amount set for your product. You will be conducting a live transaction on your Payfast account.
After Conducting a Test Purchase
💡 After a test purchase is conducted on your CCK account, it is important to head over to the orders area in your CCK Store and do the following:
Open the order from the Orders page
Mark the order as Not Paid
Mark the order as Cancelled
Click on Action and select Archive order
This will ensure that your order and funnel statistics are more accurate
