PREREQUISITES
Before creating courts, create the court types you will assign to them.
SETUP REQUIREMENTS
Log in to the admin dashboard.
Go to the side menu and click Settings. A new page displays.
Go to the Court & Resource Settings heading.
Click the Courts icon.
Creating a Court
To get started, click the Create Court button.
Name Your Court (Required): Full display name of the court (e.g., Pickleball Court #5).
Short Name: Abbreviated version of the court name (e.g., PB5) used in condensed displays. If this field is filled, CourtReserve displays this name on the Member Portal instead of the text in the Name Your Court field.
Court Type (Required): Dropdown to select the court type (e.g., Pickleball, Tennis, Racquetball). Court types must be set up before creating courts.
Sport (Required): Dropdown to assign which sport this court is used for. This drives CourtReserve Network filtering, so players can find courts for their sport when browsing participating clubs.
Environment (Required): Radio buttons to select Indoor or Outdoor. This categorizes the court for CourtReserve Network filtering. Note: Environment is separate from Court Type. A club can configure a Court Type also named "Indoor" (e.g., for surface or facility classification), but Environment specifically controls CourtReserve Network filtering and is unrelated to the Court Type value.
Note: CourtReserve Network is currently available only to clubs in the beta group. Populate the Sport and Environment fields for all courts regardless, so your club is ready when CourtReserve Network becomes available.
Is Visible on Member Portal?: Checkbox to determine whether members can view and book this court on the Member Portal. If unchecked, only admins can see it.
Day / Open Time / Close Time / Is Closed: Defines daily availability for the court. Review the default open and close times for each day of the week and customize as required.
Is closed: Checkbox to mark the court as closed for the entire day.
Combo Court(s) (optional): Select courts to link this court to create combo courts. A combo court can be utilized as different spaces, for example, Pickleball Courts 1 and 2 combine as Tennis Court 1. Booking one automatically blocks the linked courts.
Eligible for Court Waitlist: Checkbox to allow this court to be included in the waitlist feature if enabled.
When finished, click Save changes.
Editing a Court
To edit an existing court, click Edit next to the court in the Courts grid. All fields available at creation can be updated, plus one additional field:
Disabled: Checkbox to mark the court as disabled and unavailable for booking. Available only when editing an existing court, not when creating a new one.
Viewing Your Courts
The Courts tab displays all existing courts in a grid with the following columns:
Name: The court's display name, with a Public badge if the court is visible on the Member Portal.
Type: The court type assigned (e.g., Hard, Indoor, Clay).
Sport: The sport assigned to the court, used for CourtReserve Network filtering.
Combo Court(s): Any linked combo courts.
Status: Whether the court is Available or unavailable.
Next Closure: Displays the next scheduled closure date, if any.
Each row also includes three action buttons:
Closure: Schedule a closure for the court.
Edit: Open the court record to update its settings.
Delete: Permanently remove the court.
Use the Unavailable Court(s) Only checkbox to filter the list to disabled or closed courts. Use the Search field to locate a specific court by name.
Deleting a Court
To delete a court:
Locate the court in the Courts grid.
Click Delete next to the court.
A confirmation dialog displays, asking "Are you sure you want to delete [Court Name]?"
Click Yes to permanently delete the court, or Cancel to keep it.
Note: Deleting a court is permanent and cannot be undone. If you want to keep the court on record but stop it from being booked, use the Disabled checkbox on the Edit screen instead of deleting it.
Sorting the Courts
Optionally, system users can change the display order of courts on the scheduler.
Click the Other Court Actions button and select Sort Courts.
The Change Court Order dialog displays, listing all courts and resources by name and type (e.g., Tennis Court #1 - Hard).
Click and drag a row using the move handle to reorder it in the list. Use the scrollbar to view additional courts if the list extends beyond the visible area.
Click Save Changes to apply the new order, or Close to exit without saving.
USER PERSPECTIVE
CourtReserve displays court name information on the Member Portal scheduler:
The court name (or the short name, if provided) appears on the scheduler.
The court type appears below the name if that option is enabled. Note: To hide court types on the Member Portal, go to Organization Settings > General and check the Hide Court Types on Schedulers option.
