Publish Global Announcements

Share Important Updates Directly on the Member Portal

INTRODUCTION

Feature Summary: Display important news, updates, or announcements directly on the member portal. Global Announcements are ideal for communicating closures, special events, or other important messages. They can also be marked as Urgent for increased visibility.

Use Cases:

  • Post general announcements such as holiday closures, maintenance updates, or event promotions.

  • Display information to all visitors or limit visibility to logged-in members only.

  • Highlight time-sensitive updates by marking them as Urgent.


SETUP REQUIREMENTS

  1. Log in to the Admin Dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Organizational Settings.

  3. Click the Global Announcements icon. A new page will open.

  4. Click Create Global Announcement to add a new message.

The table on the Global Announcements page shows:

  • Active messages currently visible on the member portal.

  • Upcoming messages scheduled to appear in the future based on their start date.

  • Past messages that have expired and are no longer displayed on the portal.


Creating a Global Announcement

On the Create Global Announcement page:

  • Title: Enter a clear and descriptive title for the announcement.

  • Active From / Active Until: Click the calendar icons to set the start and end dates for when the announcement will be visible.

  • Display to Specific Membership Type(s): Optionally limit visibility to certain membership categories.

  • Display to Specific Member Group(s): Restrict visibility to specific member groups if needed.

  • Include on Welcome Page: Check this box to show the announcement when members log in. If left unchecked, the message will appear only on the Announcements page.

Important: In order to have the Announcements section display on the CourtReserve mobile app, the Include on Welcome page option must be selected. See example below.

  • Mark as Urgent: Highlight the announcement as urgent so it stands out to members.

  • In the Content field, enter your message.

    • Use the toolbar to format text, insert images, or add links.

    • Click Save when finished.


Creating Global Announcements on the Admin Mobile App

Global announcements can also be created from the Admin Panel on CourtReserve's Mobile App. System users can find the Global Announcements button on the Home page.


USER PERSPECTIVE

If the system user enables the Include on Welcome Page setting, CourtReserve displays the new announcement immediately when a member logs in to their portal account.

A red dot tells the user this is a new message. Here, you can also see a message marked as Urgent. This is an example from the desktop portal:

If the system user does not enable the Welcome Page feature, CourtReserve adds a red dot to the Announcement link in the navigation. When a member logs in and clicks the link, CourtReserve displays all announcements.

Note: To hide or display the Announcements link in the header on the member portal, go to Website Settings > General and scroll to locate this setting:
