Package Redemption Overview
Packages can be redeemed by both members and system users. When a qualifying activity (such as court time, a lesson, or an event occurrence) is selected, CourtReserve automatically presents the option to redeem punches during the payment process. This option appears after clicking PAY on an eligible transaction.
Important Redemption Notes
Packages will not redeem for reservation types where the Fee Responsibility is set to "Each Player Equally."
They also won’t redeem if the setting is "Allow player to pay full or split equally" and the member chooses the split equally option.
PREREQUISITES
Know how to create a package.
FEATURE USAGE - ADMIN PERSPECTIVE
To redeem a punch on the admin dashboard:
Open the Transactions page.
Locate the member name and click Pay.
On the next page:
Confirm that the Pay By Package option is selected.
Click the Available Packages field and select the correct package (if more than one option is available).
Confirm the number of required punches for this transaction.
Click CONFIRM & PAY.
Click Yes in the confirmation popup.
CourtReserve returns to the Transaction table. The table shows the number of punches used for the payment and the Payment Type set to Punch.
If the Payment page does not display a Pay By Package option, the system user should consider the following.
The member has not paid for the package.
The platform is configured to refuse punches for unpaid packages. Check the setting Allow Package to be Used While Unpaid on the Packages page.
The booking may not be eligible due to several factors—such as the package’s date range, eligible booking types, or expiration status. In these cases, it’s best to review the package settings by navigating to SETTINGS > BILLING SETTINGS > Packages in the admin panel.
Confirming the punch
System users can confirm the number of punches used by a member.
Open the member profile page and click the Billing > Packages tabs. The table shows the number of used punches.
To see transaction details, click the Punches link. You will see a summary screen of their package including total punches, punches used, and punches remaining. Other things to note:
Click Deduct Punch(es) to manually remove punches from a package.
Under Usage, you can review details such as the event, date, time, number of punches used, and the player associated with each deduction.
Under Eligible Items, view the specific items in your system that are configured to deduct punches from this package type.
FEATURE USAGE - USER PERSPECTIVE
Players can redeem punches from a valid package on the member portal.
The player should go to the Transaction Details tab (Billing > Transactions) and locate a booking. Click the PAY WITH PACKAGE button.
On the next page:
Click the Available Packages field and select the correct package (if more than one option is available).
Confirm the number of required punches for this transaction.
Click PAY.
Confirming the punch
Players can confirm the number of punches used. Go to the Transaction(s) page and click the Packages > Current tabs. The Punches column shows the number of used punches for each package.
Click the link in the Punches column to see package details.
The page shows the package status and a list of punch transactions.
