🆕Monthly Insight Report

Monthly report is essential because it provides regular, structured insights that help businesses track and analyze key metrics over time.
In cloud cost management, it enables teams to identify trends, view costs at a glance, and detect any unusual increases. This level of visibility supports proactive expense management, helps prevent unexpected budget overruns, and enables informed decisions on where to optimize resources.
With this concept in mind, we’ve added a month selection feature to your Insight Report, allowing you to view costs for a specific month of your choice. This new selection in the Insight Report creation process works similarly to the previous quarterly and yearly options. Simply follow the same steps, with a new “Monthly Report” option now available in Step 2.

Creating a Monthly Insight Report is easy, just follow these simple steps:
In the top left corner of your screen, navigate to ‘Reports’ and click ‘+ NEW REPORT’.
In the pop-up window, select ‘Fixed’ and click ‘NEXT’.
Then, choose ‘Monthly Report’ and fill in the necessary details.
For the final step, after selecting the cost group for your report, go to the ‘Recurrence’ section and choose the desired year and month. Note: Only the previous and current months of the selected year will be available for selection. Future months are excluded, as data is not yet available.

Preview the report, and once satisfied, click ‘SAVE LAYOUT.’ You'll notice that new widgets were added to the report. These widgets display your costs for the last 30 days of the month in graphs and tables formats, providing a daily breakdown of your expenses for enhanced granularity.

After setting up GCP API access, you can view your usage and rate optimizations directly in the Recommendations tab or section.
We've updated the details section (on the left side of the screen) to include a GCP selection, now displayed alongside AWS for easy navigation.
Recommendations are now available in our database, so you can immediately access insights to optimize your cloud usage.

Details View for Recommendations: Click on the name of any recommendation to expand and view its details. Similar to AWS recommendations, a pop-up window will display the specifics of the selected recommendation, including the logic ID, name, service type, and more.
You'll notice we used the term ‘location’ instead of ‘region’ for GCP, as GCP organizes resources by ‘location,’ which often refers to a specific zone rather than a broader region.
We’ve also added more details to each recommendation, including estimated savings, the reason for the recommendation, suggested actions, and the resource identifier.
Please note: for certain resources, like the Idle GKE cluster, estimated monthly savings may not be available, unlike with other items, such as Idle IP address.
