If Windows prevents National Estimator from opening and displays “This app has been blocked for your protection”or a similar administrator warning, the steps below may resolve the issue.
⚠️ Important: These steps turn off Windows User Account Control (UAC), a security feature that helps prevent unauthorized changes to your computer. Disabling UAC reduces Windows security. If this is a work computer or is managed by an IT administrator, contact your IT administrator before making this change.
Change the Windows setting
In the Windows search box, type regedit and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\SystemFind EnableLUA, right-click it, and select Modify.
Change the Value data from 1 to 0, then select OK.
Windows will prompt you to restart your computer. Select Restart Now.
After your computer restarts, try opening National Estimator again.
National Estimator should now open without the warning.
