To open the Cost Row Editor
Click the line in your estimate, then press F7 (Fn+F7 on a Mac), or
Right-click a line in your estimate, then click Change Line
Editing a cost line
Fill in the boxes left to right, pressing Tab (not Enter) to move between them:
Quantity — how many units.
Unit of measure — pick from the drop-down list, or type your own. Find abbreviations here.
Craft code — use an existing code, or make up your own two-character code.
Hourly wage — the labor rate for this line.
Man-hours, material, labor, equipment — enter these for one unit under Unit Costs. The Extended Costs column shows the total for your quantity.
Total — adds up material, labor and equipment for you.
Click Save when complete.
☝️Tips:
Copying a line from the costbook? Quantity may be all you need.
Skip material, labor and equipment to type any amount straight into Total.
Labor cost = hourly rate × hours per unit.
Use Calculator to figure quantities like square feet, then click Use to drop the result into Quantity.
