QuickBooks Desktop character limits.

QuickBooks Desktop character limits.

Updated over 8 months ago

We are very proud of our integration with both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop, and over the years we've developed a good understanding of how CRO can best communicate with your long history of accounting.

That said, there are some limitations that QuickBooks puts upon our integration, one of the most prominent of which is the character limitations.

See, CRO doesn't mind if you have long Location Names, for example and neither does QuickBooks. However, when an invoice and customer are sent from CRO to your QuickBooks, the Web Connector (the middle man) insists on not having more than a certain number of characters in any given field. Email addresses, phone numbers and even location addresses need to confine to the restrictions that the Web Connector enforces to get your invoices into your QuickBooks successfully.

CRO will do what it can to help you with fields that are too long, but it's important to know what each of the character limits are so you can be prepared.

Fortunately, these character limits are not a mystery! Intuit (the company behind QuickBooks) has provided a full breakdown of the maximum amount of characters each field your customers can have in order to push your invoices over.

To see Intuit's up-to-date list of the character limits for each field, you can click here to go directly to their website to double check.

As always, if you have any questions (that CRO can help with!) when it comes to character limits, never hesitate to reach out and let us know at 1-844-276-2467.
