How to set up your wallet and receive your +Extra funding

A match funding partner has agreed to pledge on my project, what should I do next?

Updated over 7 months ago

Congratulations, one of our funding partners has agreed to support your project!

Here's what you'll need to do next to make sure your project receives the additional funds.

How does Crowdfunder transfer my +Extra funding money to my account?

We transfer +Extra funding money from our partners a little differently from how we transfer the money you raise from the crowd. All extra funds are processed via our payment partner MangoPay, which has additional due diligence (KYC) checks in place. This means you'll be invited to set up what's known as an +Extra funding wallet in your project dashboard. Don't worry, we'll guide you every step of the way!

N.B. If you have received funding from the Sport England Movement Fund, please take a look at this guide instead.

What criteria must be met to secure my +Extra funding money?

Some of our funds require that you meet certain criteria to receive your +Extra funding money after closing successfully, such as reaching 100% of your crowdfunding target (even if you have chosen the Flexible Funding/Keep What You Raise funding type). There may also be other criteria specific to the fund that you must fulfil.

We recommend double-checking the eligibility criteria for your chosen fund to make sure you're on track to receive the partner pledge.

Most partner pledge conditions will require you to have a minimum number of unique supporters* before the pledge will show on your page.

(*A unique supporter is a single pledge made using a name, email address and payment card. Pledges that share the same card will only be counted once. For example, if both a primary and an additional cardholder pledges using the same payment card, they will be counted as the same unique supporter.)

How do I set up my +Extra funding wallet?

We've created the following guides to help you set up your wallet:

For businesses, charitable companies, CICs and organisations with a Companies House registration: How to set up your wallet as a business registered with Companies House.

For registered charities without Companies House registration: How to set up your wallet as a registered charity or organisation

For constituted organisations (including sports clubs and councils): How to set up your wallet as a constituted organisation

How long will it take for my documents to be verified?

It can take up to 3 working days for your documents to be verified by our third-party payment provider.

When will my +Extra funding money be transferred to my account?

After your project has successfully closed and your +Extra funding wallet has been verified, it can take up to 20 working days for the money to be transferred.

What should I know before setting up my funding wallet?

Please make sure that you have selected the correct entity type and have all the relevant documents necessary to complete your wallet setup. Ensure you answer the questions correctly in order to get the right wallet setup.

  • If you are setting up your wallet as a business, you can search for and download the necessary documents from Companies House.

  • If you are setting up your wallet as a charity (England and Wales), you can search for and download the necessary information from the Charities Commission.

We recommend reading the relevant guide (as listed above) before you start.

Please also make sure that all documents you intend to upload are good quality and legible. When uploading the ID document for your legal representative, double-check that all of the corners and edges of the document are visible. If not, it will be rejected. The details on this ID must exactly match the details you've entered in your wallet - do not abbreviate names.

When it comes to your legal representative (whose ID you'll need to upload), we'll need proof that they are part of your organisation. You'll therefore need to add a document that names them, such as an appointment of director, a list of members or minutes from an AGM.
