When you no longer want to allow your crowd to post and/or you just want to end your Social Wall, you should Finish it and finalize it. This will stop all posts from Crowdpurr and social media querying. Finishing the Social Wall will update all crowd Participant Views with a message that says "This social wall has ended. Thank you for participating."

A finished Social Wall Presentation View is different! Unlike other Experience Types, the Presentation View for a finished Social Wall will not display a "This social wall has ended" message.

Instead, the Presentation View will still display existing posts to allow your participants to view the wall for as long as you would like. However, all Participant Views will display a Social Wall Finished message to let your participants know that the posting has ended.

Finishing your Social Wall is useful when you no longer want your crowd to use the Social Wall and you want them to focus their attention back on your presentation, another topic, etc. However, you don't necessarily have to finish your Social Wall unless you're going to reset it. However, you may need to reset your Social Wall if you've exceeded the number of participants or posts for your given Crowdpurr plan.

When you want to clear out any practice posts and reset your Social Wall for your actual live event, you must first Finish your Social Wall. Once you finish a Social Wall, you have the option of resetting it, which we'll do in this tutorial.

Do social media posts continue querying? When your Social Wall is in the Paused, Finished, or Ready To Start state, no social media querying from X or Instagram will occur. Your Social Wall only queries X and Instagram when it's LIVE.

Finishing Your Social Wall

To finish your Social Wall, simply click the smaller circular red Stop button under the Playback Controls heading on the Experience Dashboard. This will stop all interaction from your crowd.

Experiences never run out! Feel free to start, pause, stop, restart, or reset your Experiences as many times as you want since Experiences never "run out." You have 30 days of access with all Premium Plans to design and test your Experiences. Your Experience Limit refers to how many unique Experiences you can create and have on your account at the same time.

Your Social Wall is now Finished and your crowd can no longer submit posts to the wall. All Participant Views will now show a Social Wall Finished screen like below:

Resetting Your Social Wall

After your Social Wall is finished, you will need to Reset it in order to run it again, either as practice or for your actual live event. Resetting will set your Social Wall back to the Ready To Start state.

This will update all crowd Participant Views and the Presentation View will indicate, "The Social Wall will begin soon. Below, we'll discuss options for handling existing posts or crowd responses.

To reset your Social Wall, click on the blue Reset button under the Playback Controls section on the Experience Dashboard.

Clear Crowd Responses

Click the red Clear Crowd Responses button if you want to remove all current posts from X, Instagram, and Crowdpurr. If you want to reset your Social Wall to a clean state so it can be run again as a "fresh" Social Wall, click on this option. It will also set your Social Wall's state to Ready To Start and is the most common type of reset.

Clearing crowd responses is permanent! Before you select Clear Crowd Response, make sure you don't need this data. If you were just practicing your Social Wall, then selecting Clear Crowd Responses is fine.

However, if you ran an actual Social Wall for a live event and need your Crowd Responses (e.g. images, posts, user data, etc.) make sure you first export this data as a CSV file spreadsheet before selecting Clear Crowd Responses.

To learn more about exporting Social Wall data, check out Exporting Social Wall Posts and Images.

Remove Participant Accounts

Along with clearing out the Crowd Responses, you can also enable the Remove Participant Accounts setting. When this option is toggled On, selecting the Clear Crowd Responses option will also remove the participant accounts tied to the Experience. Participants will be required to sign in again and create a new participant account.

Optional Remove Participant Accounts setting

Please note, enabling the Remove Participant Accounts setting will also remove any data that the current Experience's list of participants has submitted for any of your Crowdpurr Experiences.

Keep Crowd Responses

Click the purple Keep Crowd Responses button if you want to reset the Social Wall's state back to Ready To Start, but want to keep the existing posts and images. There are some cases where this is useful. For example, you may want to keep the existing posts if you accidentally Finish your Social Wall and want to re-run it without removing all the existing posts.

After clicking on one of the above buttons, your Social Wall is now reset. To start it again, you'll need to click the green Play button.
