Overview
Secure your TAO by connecting your Ledger hardware wallet to Crucible. Crucible uses the Polkadot app to interface with the Bittensor network.
Prerequisites
A Ledger Nano X, S Plus, Flex, or Stax.
Chrome Browser with the Crucible Extension installed.
Polkadot App installed on your Ledger. (If you haven’t done this yet, see Preparing Your Ledger for Bittensor)
Connecting to Crucible
Open Polkadot App: Connect and unlock your Ledger. Navigate to the Polkadot App and open it until the screen says "Polkadot Ready."
Initiate Connection: Open the Crucible extension and click Connect Wallet.
Grant USB Access: A browser tab will open requesting USB permissions. Click Connect Wallet and select your device from the Chrome pop-up.
Name Wallet: Give your wallet a name to finish the setup.
Quick Fixes
Ledger Live: Ensure the Ledger Live desktop app is closed, as it can block the connection to Chrome.
Connection Failed: Ensure you are using a data-sync USB cable and the Polkadot app is active on the device screen.
