First-Time Setup

1. Start from your Dashboard

As soon as you log in, you will see your main Dashboard, which guides you through your first actions.

2. Add your first Nominee (most important step)

  1. Click β€œAdd Nominee”;

  2. Enter their name and email;

  3. Confirm the nominee.

πŸ’‘ Once you add your nominee, Crux automatically generates the default folder structure for you.

3. Upload your first file

You can upload any file type, including:

  • Documents (PDFs, IDs, contracts, insurance, etc.)

  • Photos

  • Videos

  • Screenshots

  • Notes or scanned pages

Steps:

  1. Click Upload File.

  2. Select your file.

  3. Choose where it should live:

    • Assign it directly to a nominee,

    • Add it to your Documents,

    • Or do both

4. Use your Journal (optional but powerful)

  1. Open the Journal section.

  2. Write notes, messages, reflections, or instructions.

  3. You can update or delete entries anytime.

Your Journal can help leave context, guidance, or personal thoughts for your loved ones.

5. Continue uploading or organizing anytime

There is no fixed order. After adding your nominee and first file, you can keep organizing your Vault at your own pace.

Troubleshooting

  • Nominee not receiving the invite: Ask them to check their spam folder.

  • File not uploading: Ensure file size and format are supported.

  • Folder not appearing: Refresh your dashboard; folders generate after the first nominee is added.
