Your legacy plan is the collection of documents, files, instructions, and messages you want your nominees to receive when the time comes. Crux allows you to organize this information securely and assign it to the right people, so they can access it only after activation (incapacity or death).
What a Legacy Plan is
A legacy plan includes the key information you store and organize in Crux, such as:
Important documents (IDs, medical files, insurance, financial records)
Photos, videos, or memories
Notes, instructions, or journal entries
Files assigned to specific nominees
Your will (if available in your region)
It represents the set of items you want Crux to deliver to your nominees when required.
Why it’s Important
Your legacy plan ensures that:
Nominees receive the information they need without confusion.
Your documents and instructions are stored in one secure location.
Your wishes are clearly documented and available when necessary.
Nothing is shared before activation; data remains private and encrypted.
How to Create Your Legacy Plan in Crux
1. Add your nominees
Go to My Nominees;
Add their full name, relationship, and email;
They will receive an invitation to accept;
Crux automatically creates a folder for each confirmed nominee.
2. Add content to each nominee’s folder
Open the nominee’s folder from your Dashboard;
Click Upload or drop to add files (documents, images, videos, etc.);
Create notes or journal entries if you want to leave instructions or messages;
All items inside a nominee folder will be delivered to them after activation.
3. Organize your general documents
Use the Documents folder for files not assigned to a specific nominee;
Create sub-folders if needed for easier organization;
Upload important records you want stored securely.
4. Review and update when needed
You can remove files, add new content, or update your nominee list at any time.
Troubleshooting
Item uploaded to the wrong place: Delete it and upload it again in the correct folder.
Unsure what to include: Start with critical identification, medical, and financial documents, then add notes or instructions as needed.
Nominee cannot access anything: This is expected. Access only occurs after emergency activation.
