CUE's Bingo is a mobile-only activation where fans scan a QR code to receive a randomly generated bingo card customized with sport-specific or event-specific tiles. Throughout the event, tiles are called and fans tap to mark them on their cards.
Tile Calling: CUE's Bingo currently operates in manual calling mode, where an operator clicks to call tiles as events occur during the game. When a tile is called, it pulses or flashes on all participating fans' phones to alert them, but fans must physically tap to mark each tile themselves. This keeps fans engaged while allowing them to play passively—they don't need to watch constantly; they can check in periodically to see which tiles are pulsing and update their cards. The calling interface is simple: click an item to call it (with a confirmation prompt), and click again to uncall if you make a mistake. Calls appear on fans' cards in real-time.
Automatic Calling via Stats APIs: For MLB teams, CUE has integrated with MLB's live stats feed to enable automatic tile calling based on live game events. When using Stats API Bingo, you configure each tile with a specific statistic type (home runs, strikeouts, hits, doubles, walks, hit by pitch, etc.), the team it applies to (your team, opponent, or combined), and an optional threshold number. The system continuously monitors the live game feed and automatically stamps tiles as criteria are met, eliminating the need for manual operation. To start a Stats API Bingo session, you enter the Game PK (the unique identifier MLB uses for each game) and specify whether your team is home or away. The admin interface displays real-time counts for each stat type so you can monitor progress. CUE can add any stat available in the MLB API feed beyond the standard set.
Winning Patterns & Prizes: CUE's Bingo supports multiple winning patterns including traditional lines (horizontal, vertical, diagonal), four corners, X patterns, full blackout cards, and completely custom patterns. For example, you can create a custom letter pattern (like 'M' for the Mets, '7' for 7-Eleven sponsorships, or 'C' for Cincinnati teams) that counts as a win. You can configure different prize levels for different patterns—a standard prize for regular five-in-a-row bingo and a grand prize for completing a custom pattern. This creates multiple winning opportunities throughout the event and keeps fans engaged even after their first win.
Operational Requirements: For manual calling, you need someone to actively manage tiles during the game—often a social media manager, stats operator, or CG person who's already monitoring game data and can click the corresponding bingo tile when an event happens. For Stats API Bingo, no manual operation is required during the game after initial setup. Winners who achieve bingo receive automatic prize delivery through the platform, such as digital prizes or coupons.
