What is Smart Skinning?
Smart Skinning uses AI to scan through your website and any uploaded brand assets to create mainboard and mobile backgrounds as well as pull colors and fonts to quickly and easily skin out your CUE activations.
Instead of manually configuring colors, fonts, logos, buttons, and other visual elements for each activation, Smart Skinning analyzes your brand information and creates a consistent theme that can be applied across multiple CUE products and activation instances.
Smart Skinning can use information from:
Your website
Brand colors
Primary and secondary logos
Brand guidelines
Campaign imagery
Product images
Your fonts
Other visual brand materials
Once the theme is generated, you can review and edit it before applying it to your CUE activation instances.
How does Smart Skinning work?
Smart Skinning has three main steps:
Add Website and Brand Assets
Review the Generated Theme
Apply the Theme to Activation Instances
Step 1: Add Brand Assets
Navigate to Main Menu (Top right corner)→ Full Mode toggle →Smart Skinning in the CUE Platform.
Select Generate Brand Theme or Edit / Regenerate if a theme already exists.
You can provide your brand information through several inputs.
Website URL (Required)
Enter your organization's website URL.
Smart Skinning can scan the website to identify elements of your existing brand system, including:
Brand colors
Typography
Overall visual style and tone
Brand Colors
You can manually provide brand colors using HEX codes.
The available color fields include:
Primary
Secondary
Accent
You can also allow Smart Skinning to extract colors from your website.
Primary Logo
Upload your primary brand logo.
Secondary Logo
A secondary logo can be uploaded if your brand uses one. This is optional.
For example, a team could use its team logo as the primary logo and a sponsor or partner logo as the secondary logo.
Brand Guidelines
You can optionally upload a brand guidelines document.
Brand guidelines can provide additional information about:
Approved colors
Fonts
Typography
Brand voice
Other visual guidelines
Additional Visual Material
You can also upload additional visual references such as:
Fonts (.ttf, .otf, .woff, .woff2)
Campaign graphics
Flyers
Product images
Marketing materials
Other brand imagery
These materials are used as reference material to help Smart Skinning understand the brand.
Step 2: Generate the Theme
After the brand assets are provided, Smart Skinning analyzes the information and builds a brand theme. This can take up to two minutes depending on internet speeds, amount of assets etc.
The generation process can include:
Scanning the provided website
Extracting the brand color palette
Identifying typography and font weights
Building a theme for CUE products
You can then preview the generated theme before applying it.
What can I edit?
The generated theme can be reviewed and adjusted before it is applied.
Depending on the generated theme, you can adjust elements such as:
Accent color
Text color
Subtext color
Button text color
Primary logo
Secondary logos
Font
Dialog tone
The preview can be viewed in both Mainboard and Mobile formats.
Changes to the theme are reflected in the preview so you can see how the brand will look before applying it.
Dialog tone
Smart Skinning can also help establish the tone used for dialogs. These are mainly found in the Main Menu dialogs tab.
Available tone options shown in the workflow include:
Bold
Friendly
Clean
They can always be edited later.
Step 3: Apply the Theme
Once you are happy with the generated theme, select Apply.
You will then be able to choose which activation instances should receive the brand theme.
Smart Skinning supports applying the same brand theme across multiple activation instances and products.
You can select the specific instances you want to update rather than applying the theme to everything automatically.
Once you confirm the selection, the brand theme is applied to those instances.
