Learn how to create Episode Templates to create content more efficiently

Updated over a week ago

Creating Episode Templates is available only to Project admins. Once a template has been created, anyone in your Project can use it to create new Episodes.

Creating 'Episode Templates' in Cuez is easy - you can turn any of your existing Episodes into an Episode Template. If you don't have any Episodes yet, or you have not created the Episode that you plan on using as a template, you can create it first.

How can I create an Episode Template?

From the Project's Episode overview, click the three vertical dots behind an Episode to open the action menu. Next, select 'Create template from episode' to create a template from that Episode.

Cuez will confirm in the bottom left corner of the screen when the process has finished and your template is ready for use.

Your original Episode will remain in place, while the Episode Template can be found under the 'Templates' section of the Project's Episode overview.

By default, your Episode Template will be called 'Template of' followed by the name of your original Episode. Seeing that you can create as many templates as you want, we suggest giving your Episode Templates a clear name so that selecting the template when creating a new Episode clearly indicates the template's content.

Which content goes into the Episode Template?

When turning your Episode into an Episode Template, the Episode's main structure (Parts, Items, Blocks), content (text, clips, images,...), and even Columns and Timings will go into your template. This means you can prepare your Episode with all of the content and information that you want to easily reuse via the template.

Having a complete Episode Template (or as complete as possible), means that you can then focus on the changes that are needed specifically for the show or event you are creating.
