Navigation

The Tag Manager page can be located on the Tags page within the Settings section on the left side bar.

Summary

Tags are an optional feature of the Curate application that is powerful with managing your data in the system. Tags can be used for quickly sorting items such as your Events, Products as well as Contacts to name a few. Here's a breakdown of each tag type.

  • Global Tags - This tag type can be used across all other tag types mentioned below.

  • Contact Tags - Contact tags can be used within the Contacts page and are most commonly used to identify types of customers (residential, commercial). It can also be used for identifying Vendor types (Food, Floral, temp service).

  • Catalog Tags - Catalog tags can be used within the Catalog page. Since the catalog section is split into three groups, it's common to have different breakdowns based on Products, Components and Rentals (if applicable).

  • Event Tags - Event tags can be used within the Event page. The most common practice is to tag events based on their type such as weddings, birthday parties, holiday events, etc..

How to Add/Edit Tags

The default method is to navigate to the Tags page within the Settings section on the left side bar to add or edit tags.

Adding a tag: Once you're on the page, you may click the Add Tag button from any of the tag sections to see the following pop up.

  • Tag Type: This will allow you to select the desired tag type from a dropdown list.

  • Select a color: You may customize the tag by picking a color so it will jump out during use.

  • Tag Name: This is where you will name the tag. Make sure it's something rememberable!

Once completed, click the Add Tag button at the bottom of the box.

Filtering Tags

The main benefit of using Tags is the filtering function to locate just the specific tags. To do this, navigate to the appropriate page where you would like to filter (example: you can filter by event tags on the event page). Next locate and click the Filter icon on the page. It will look like the following image:

Inside the filters dropdown will be a Tags option where you can select which tags you would like to see. Click the apply button to save the filter.

Viewing Tags on the Events, Contacts and Catalog pages

Another way to view tags is to activate the tag feature on the applicable page. For example, on the top right corner of the Events, Contacts and Catalog pages we have a Tag button that can be pressed that will show what tags are in place. You can also add new tags or select from a list of current tags in this view!
