Best practices
Use list fields where appropriate (eg. open/closed) so that you can quickly filter in the register view to see only the lots which are open / closed. You'll also be able to filter by list items in the analytics and breakdown your charts by this variable.
In the template builder settings, set the form thumbnail to display the lot status (open / closed)
Configure the register view to show the most important information on the left (so it's always visible)
