Duplicate a section/sub-section/question

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Duplicating items in the builder helps you save time and keep consistency across your forms. Instead of recreating visits, steps, or questions from scratch, you can copy them in one click and then adjust as needed.

You can duplicate:

  • Sections (visits)

  • Sub-sections (steps/forms)

  • Questions

All elements inside (questions, options, validations, logic, etc.) are carried over when duplicated.

💡Tips:

  • This is especially useful when creating repeated visits with the same structure, or when reusing common question blocks.

  • If you want to duplicate content for another study, you can use templates

🛠️ Step-by-step guide:

How to duplicate content

  1. Open the Builder of your form (eCRF, ePRO, eConsent, Recruitment, or Subject Database).

  2. Find the item you want to duplicate: section, sub-section, or question.

  3. Click the duplicate icon (two overlapping squares) next to the item’s name.

  4. A pop-up appears:

    • Rename the copy

    • Add a suffix or prefix if needed

  5. Click Submit.

The duplicated item will appear just below the original.

⚠️ Important : Always review the duplicated item to ensure conditional logic, validations, and naming are still relevant.
