Datacapt is a web application. Nothing to install, for your team or for participants. A current browser and an internet connection cover it.
Browsers
Use the current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Keep automatic updates on. Internet Explorer does not work.
Datacapt does not block older browsers at login, so an outdated browser may open the platform and then misbehave on a form. When a site reports a display problem, ask for the browser and its version first.
Your browser must accept cookies and run JavaScript. Both are on by default.

Participants open their questionnaire from the link in their email or SMS. The forms adapt to the screen of a phone.
Network
All traffic uses HTTPS on port 443.
Emails come from Datacapt's sending domain. When a site does not receive invitations, ask its IT team to allow that domain.
Video calls between an investigator and a participant use the browser's camera and microphone (WebRTC). A hospital firewall may block them.
Interface languages
Menus, buttons and system messages exist in nine languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese.

Each user chooses their own language. Two colleagues on the same study can work in French and in English.
Study content languages
The questions you write are yours to translate. The Translations page of a study handles more than 85 languages for the eCRF, eConsent, automations, the Subject Database and the privacy opt-ins. See Configure translations for multi-language studies.
Each participant has a language on their profile. Datacapt sends their invitations, ePRO and eConsent in that language when the translation exists, and in the default language of the study otherwise.
đĄ Tip: a participant can pick a language outside the nine interface languages. The platform buttons then fall back to English while your translated questions show in their language. For a study in Dutch or Swedish, tell participants what the "Next" and "Submit" buttons mean in your first Instruction block.
Dates, time zones and formats
Datacapt displays dates and times in the time zone of your profile. Set it under Settings âș Personal details âș Time zone. Automatic follows your browser.
You choose the date format per study. See Modify the date format.
An ePRO Target date uses UTC.
Where your data lives
Datacapt runs on Amazon Web Services in the European Union, operated under HDS certification for health data hosting. Each customer has its own instance with its own address. Your instance address is the one you log in to; users of another Datacapt customer cannot reach it.
