Feature Update:
2-way sync with Google Calendar gives instructors even more control by allowing availability to be blocked in both directions—syncing busy events from Google into TeamUp, and pushing TeamUp events into Google automatically!

TeamUp provides two ways to sync your class timetable and availability with external calendars—making it easier to stay organised and avoid double bookings. Whether you want a simple calendar feed or full two-way integration with Google Calendar, both options are available directly from your TeamUp calendar.


Navigate to Feature

Using the menu bar, select Calendar >> Calendar Sync. This is where you can access both one-way calendar feed links and set up the new two-way sync with your Google Calendar.


1-Way Sync

Export all your events to a third-party calendar of your choice. This is a one-way sync, meaning updates made outside of TeamUp will not reflect back on your TeamUp schedule.

TeamUp offers two integration options:

Automatic link

  1. To get started, use the “Select a calendar” dropdown to choose your preferred calendar platform.

  2. Choose your preferred calendar application, and you’ll be redirected to a new window to authorize and finish syncing.

  2. You can also use the calendar URL to manually connect your calendar. Instructions for each calendar application are provided below:

Gmail

  1. Open Google Calendar.

  2. On the left side, find "Other calendars" and click the down arrow .

  3. Select "Add by URL".

  4. Enter the calendar's address in the field provided. The address needs to be an ICAL link.

    Click Add calendar.

    Important: Please note that Google Calendar only allows syncing once per day, so any changes made to the schedule after the daily sync won't show up until the following day.


Outlook

  1. Open Outlook.

  2. Click on File, then Account Settings, then Account Settings again.

  3. Click on the Internet Calendars tab, and then click New.

  4. Enter the calendar URL, and click Add.


iCal

  1. Open Calendar for Mac.

  2. Go to the File menu and choose New Calendar Subscription.

  3. Enter the calendar URL, then press the subscribe button.

  4. Configure your calendar by choosing a name and setting the auto-refresh period.

  5. After a few seconds, your calendar should be ready and will show up in your list of "Other" calendars.


2-Way Sync

New Feature Update!

Connect a third-party calendar and sync your events with your TeamUp schedule to avoid conflicts. New events on TeamUp will be immediately reflected on your connected calendar, and changes on a connected calendar will affect your appointment availability in TeamUp.

Connect with Google

  1. To get started, click "Connect to Google"

  2. Select which Google Calendar to sync (if your account contains multiple calendars).

  3. Follow the Google OAuth process to authorise access.

  4. Be sure to allow TeamUp access to your calendar

  5. Your Calendar Sync page will refresh and display your email account connected.

  6. After connecting, you can set several advanced options. Be sure to click "Save" to your changes.

    • Only sync events from TeamUp to third-party calendars if there is at least one attendee

      • Prevents empty classes from appearing in Google Calendar.

    • Only sync third-party events to TeamUp if they are marked as Busy

      • Ensures that only relevant time blocks affect availability in TeamUp.

    • Set default reminders for TeamUp events from Google prior to the event start time

      • Automatically applies a set reminder time to TeamUp events pushed to Google Calendar.
