Opening Multiple Charts in Onyx

By default, Onyx allows only one active chart per Rithmic login session.

Updated over a week ago

Onyx allows you to monitor multiple markets and timeframes simultaneously using flexible chart layouts and pop-out chart windows.

Whether you prefer working within a single layout or across multiple screens, Onyx gives you full control over how you view and manage your charts.

Using Chart Layouts (Same Window)

You can display multiple charts within a single workspace using the built-in layout system.

How to Set Up Multiple Charts

  1. Layout Setup:
Click the Layout icon at the top of your screen.

  2. Select Grid:
Choose your preferred grid configuration. Onyx supports viewing multiple charts at the same time within one layout.

  3. Change Symbols:
Click on any chart to change the symbol and track different markets (e.g., NQ, ES, CL) side by side.

This setup is ideal for keeping everything organized within a single window.

Using Pop-Out Charts (New)

You can now open charts in separate windows for a more advanced and flexible setup.

How It Works

  • Click the Pop-Out option on any chart

  • The chart opens in its own independent window

  • Each window can display a different symbol or account

  • All charts remain synced in real time

Benefits

  • Use multiple monitors for expanded visibility

  • Separate charts by strategy, symbol, or timeframe

  • Place trades directly from any chart window

  • No limit on the number of pop-out charts

This is the best option for traders who want a multi-screen or high-performance setup.

Best Way to Use Multiple Charts

Most traders combine both approaches:

  • Use layouts for quick monitoring inside one screen

  • Use pop-out charts for deeper focus across multiple screens

This gives you maximum flexibility depending on your workflow.

Using multiple charts is a great way to monitor correlated markets or different timeframes for the same instrument.
