Onyx Platform FAQ (Rithmic-Powered)

Learn how Onyx works with Rithmic, including market hours, maintenance windows, login access, and account processing.

Updated this week

What is the Onyx platform?

Onyx is our trading platform hosted and powered by Rithmic. It uses Rithmic’s professional futures trading infrastructure for order routing, execution, and market data, while using full TradingView charts.

If you are familiar with Rithmic-based platforms, Onyx operates on the same backend technology.

Is Onyx powered by Rithmic?

Yes. Onyx is fully powered by Rithmic.

This means:

  • Orders are routed through Rithmic

  • Market data is provided by Rithmic

  • Platform availability follows Rithmic market hours and maintenance schedules

Where can I view my trade history?

All Onyx trade history can be accessed through rTrader Pro.

You can view:

  • Executed trades

  • Order fills and timestamps

  • Account-level trade history

Even if you trade using a different front-end, rTrader Pro is the source of record for all Onyx accounts.

When are Onyx accounts created and processed?

Account purchases made during market close are not processed immediately.

This includes purchases made:

  • On weekends

  • During daily market maintenance

Accounts will be processed closer to market open, once Rithmic systems are fully online.

This delay is normal and expected.

What are the futures market hours (ET)?

Onyx follows the standard CME futures schedule:

Market Open (ET):

  • Sunday at 6:00 PM ET

Market Close (ET):

  • Friday at 5:00 PM ET

Daily Maintenance Window (ET):

  • Monday–Friday from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM ET

Can I log in during market close or maintenance?

In most cases, no.

During:

  • Weekends

  • The daily 5:00–6:00 PM ET maintenance window

Rithmic performs system maintenance. During this time, you may be unable to:

  • Log in to the platform

  • Sign agreements

  • Complete account creation

  • Access account credentials

This is expected Rithmic behavior and does not indicate an issue with your account.

I can’t log in — is something wrong with my account?

Most likely no.

If you are attempting to log in during:

  • A weekend

  • The daily Rithmic maintenance window

Please wait until the market reopens. Access will restore automatically once maintenance is complete.

Submitting a support ticket during these times will not speed up access.

Lag & Order Synchronization

Experiencing a delay on your chart or difficulty adjusting orders is typically tied to internet upload speed or high latency (ping). When your connection is unstable, your browser struggles to send command signals to the Rithmic servers.

Common Symptoms:

  • Inability to move Take Profit (TP) or Stop Loss (SL) bracket orders.

  • Orders appearing "stuck" or not moving on the chart.

  • Inability to close an active position.

  • Chart price action appearing frozen or delayed.

How to Resolve Lag Issues

If you encounter these issues, take the following steps immediately to secure your positions:

  • Immediate Refresh: Press F5 on your keyboard to resync the data feed and refresh the connection.

  • Use a Wired Connection: Switch from Wi-Fi to an Ethernet cable. This provides a stable data flow and significantly reduces latency spikes.

  • Try Incognito Mode: Open the platform in a private/incognito window. This ensures browser extensions aren't interfering with or slowing down your data feed.

  • Manual Trade Management: If a refresh doesn't resolve the visual lag, we recommend closing the trade manually via the positions tab to avoid unintended losses due to price discrepancies.
