How to Import Reviews Using a Spreadsheet/CSV file.
Follow these steps to import reviews efficiently into your Debutify Reviews account.
STEP 1
Login to your Debutify Reviews account, scroll to Manage Reviews and click Import & export.
STEP 2
Click on the Import from spreadsheet tab to access the import options.
STEP 3
Click Download CSV template to download a CSV file that serves as a reference. Using this template will help you format your data correctly and avoid errors.
STEP 4
Open the downloaded CSV file on your computer and fill in the required data. View this guide on how to complete each element of the spreadsheet accurately.
STEP 5
After completing the spreadsheet, save it and upload the same CSV file to import your reviews.
STEP 6
Click Import Reviews to begin the import process.
How to Fill Review Data Accurately for Import
When preparing your reviews for import, it’s essential to format your data accurately to ensure a smooth upload. Here’s a guide to help you fill each field correctly.
Required Fields
Title, Body, Status, Rating, Reviewer Name, Product ID, Product Handle, and Published At
Title: Enter a short, descriptive title for the review (e.g., "Great Product!").
Body: Write the main content of the review, detailing the customer's experience or feedback.
Status: Indicate the review’s visibility by setting this to published (visible on your store) or hidden (kept in the system but not visible).
Rating: Enter a numeric value, typically between 1 and 5, that represents the review’s rating.
Reviewer Name: Include the name of the customer who left the review.
Product ID: Use the unique Product ID for each product.
Product Handle: Enter the product handle. This is the unique part of your product’s URL. If you’re unsure how to find it, check here.
Published At: Add the date the review was published (format: YYYY-MM-DD).
Optional Fields
These fields can remain empty as they’re not mandatory:
Source: This can include where the review originated from if relevant.
Reviewer Email: Optionally include the reviewer’s email address.
Media URLs: Link to any review images or videos.
IP Address: The reviewer’s IP address, if available.
Location: The reviewer’s location.
Ensuring accuracy in these fields will help avoid any errors during the import process.
How to Find Your Product Handle in Shopify
The product handle is the unique part of each product's URL in your Shopify store, essential for linking imported reviews to the correct products.
STEP 1
Go to your Shopify admin dashboard.
STEP 2
Navigate to Products and select the product you want to import reviews for.
STEP 3
Scroll down to the Product Settings section. Click on the pencil icon next to the Search engine listing to view the product URL handle.
STEP 4
Here, you’ll see the product handle. You can either use the one already set or change it to your preferred handle.
