If this is your first time using AI Chat we recommend reading our article on how to use the feature.

In this article we explore how to request specific formats from AI Chat answers.

Step 1: Ask AI Chat a question

After getting an answer from AI chat, you might want the answer in a different format.

Step 2: Request AI to change the format of the answer

Ask AI a follow up question like "Give me the answer again in a table format", or "Give me the answer in bullet point form."

Try the following formatting questions:

  1. Give me the answer in a table

  2. Give me the answer in a bullet point list

  3. Include snippet citations.

  4. Give me the answer with headers and subheaders

An example

My first question to AI Chat: "Can you summarize these snippets?"

The answer came in a paragraph form, but I want something easier to read.

Follow up question: "Can you give me the answer in a table form, broken out by transcript?"

However, this table still isn't quite what I wanted

Follow up question: I added more specificity, "Can you provide a table with the transcript in one column, the answer in a second column, and snippet citations in a third column?

This is closer to what I want. The key is to keep iterating and don't be afraid to ask follow up questions to get the answer in a different format.

Generate a table or matrix

  • Give me the answer in a table

Generate a bullet point list

  • Give me the answer in a bullet point list

Ensure there are snippet citations:

  • Include snippet citations

Generate an answer with headers and subheaders:

  • Give me the answer with headers and subheaders
