How to reply to patients, respond to Virtual Consults, and manage Ava Chats

My Desk is a communication powerhouse with all kinds of tools for you to use, at every point of their treatment journey.

As a result, there's a lot of messages coming and going, and when you get behind it can feel overwhelming ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

The Notification Center is a tool that helps you stay on top of things stay organized, and respond to everything in one place!

When you log into your account and you have unanswered messages, the center will open automatically to remind you to take action.

There are 3 categories that different types of messages will be sorted into - Follow Up, Virtual Consult, and Chats (each has it's own tab - click them to switch between):

These icons are notification counters:

Clicking the bell will open the "Follow Up" tab - this is where you'll also see replies to Blasts, Follow Up, Reminders, and direct messages.

The plus sign will open the Virtual Consult tab, but you'll also get notifications here when patients schedule online using the New Patient Scheduler.

My avatar opens incoming Ava Chat notifications - incoming and missed chats will be here.

When you log in, the center will open automatically to the tabs in order of priority: Ava Chat, Virtual Consult, then Follow Up.

Clicking anywhere outside of the center will close it, and unless you manually click the notifications to open it again, it will stay closed until the next time you log in!

Replying to Patients

When patients that you're assigned to send a message, you'll get the notifications for the

Team alerts: Your notifications will be at the top of the list, but you'll see all other notifications as well, in the "Team alerts" section.

That way, if a team member needs you to cover for them, you can!

Each notification is labeled with what type of message they are replying to:

After you reply, notifications will be removed but you can also click "Remove" or the X to close them too.

To reply to patients messages, click the small arrow at the bottom of each notification to expand it to view their messages
