Command Comprehension
Bola AI can understand and process many different combinations of commands, but they must be formulated in a specific way. Commands must be spoken clearly and with a consistent cadence. Pausing for long periods of time in the middle of a command can cause the system to drop information.
To ensure that your commands work as expected, we recommend that you review our “Voice commands list” document to check that your command is valid. Access our “cheat sheets” here.
For Dentrix Desktop
Bola requires the procedure code listbox, along the shortcuts for existing other, existing, treatment planning and completed to be visible on the chart in order to work.
In addition, a one-time setup requires certain keyboard shortcuts to be put in, which are as follows:
Go to View-> Toolbars-> Customize toolbars-> keyboard button-> Choose Charting category
Procedure code listbox -> shortcut : Ctrl+Shift+Z -> Assign
Set Existing Other-> Shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+Y -> Assign
Treatment plan : Ctrl + Shift + W
Completed: Ctrl + Shift + X
The basic intent for all procedures is:
Add/Mark/Place [Procedure] on tooth [X] (Surface)
Example:-
Add a root canal on tooth 13
Add amalgam filling on tooth 3 MOD
Add a crown on tooth 12 (defaults to PFM crown)
Inbuilt defaults
The default mode of charting is for patient history or existing. If you want to chart treatment plan or completed, say “start treatment plan” or “start completed” and follow the same command cadence.
For example, if you turn on the mic, and say “add a root canal on tooth 13”. It will mark it as an existing entry. This is really helpful for new patient intake
After the intake, let’s suppose the treatment plan entails fillings and crowns. In this case, you say “Start treatment plan”, and then “add amalgam filling to tooth 12 MO” etc. This would be added to the treatment plan in your EHR
The default crown supported by Bola is PFM which is ADA code D2750. For zirconia or porcelain/ceramic, please say the full name of the crown i.e Add a zirconia crown to tooth 14.
There are two types of fillings supported by Bola :- Amalgam and composite/resin. Use the full verbiage “Add composite filling to tooth 12 MOD” to chart.
