A Revit plug-in will need to be downloaded to access the Revit features. To do this, please go to the pink Revit tab within your DS account, and download the plug-in that matches the version of Revit you use.
Before you begin, ensure you have created the relevant project in DesignSpec that you wish to sync with Revit. Once the project is set up, follow these steps using the DesignSpec Sync add-in:
Open your project in Revit.
Launch the DesignSpec Sync add-in from the Add-ins tab.
Sign in to your DesignSpec account.
Select the sync direction:
Revit to DesignSpec
DesignSpec to Revit
Revit to DesignSpec
Link Project
Choose the DesignSpec project you want to sync with.
Map Attributes
Revit Product Family Parameters can be mapped to DesignSpec attributes.
Search for specific Product Family Parameters.
Use Reset Mapping to automatically match DesignSpec attributes to Product Family Parameters.
Create new attributes in DesignSpec if they do not already exist.
Map Areas
Revit Rooms can be mapped to DesignSpec Areas.
Search for Revit Rooms.
Create new Areas or Sub-Areas in DesignSpec if they do not exist.
Sync
Configure which Product Families will be included in the sync:
Click the + icon to expand product family categories.
Select the checkbox next to each Product Family to include it.
Choose a Specification Type for each Product Family from the dropdown.
Rows missing a Spec Type will be highlighted.
Selecting a Spec Type at the category level applies it to all families within that category.
Search products by Product Family Description or Type Mark.
Filter results by Mapped, Unmapped, or Missing Spec Type.
Click a Product Family to view discrepancies between Revit and DesignSpec.

Note: If the total area quantity does not match the Revit product quantity, DesignSpec will create Areas with no quantity and record the quantity in the general field.

Link Project
Choose the DesignSpec project you want to sync with Revit.
Map Attributes
DesignSpec attributes can be mapped to Revit Parameters.
Add a shared project parameter if it does not exist.
Use Reset Mapping to automatically match DesignSpec attributes to Revit Parameters.
Sync
Sync specifications to Revit if a matching Product Family with the same Type Mark already exists.
Click on an attribute to view the DesignSpec-to-Revit fields available for sync.
Check the box next to each attribute to sync its data to the corresponding Revit Product.
Note: As long as the data can be converted into the appropriate Revit data type, the sync process should function without issues.
