Add a cost column where you can assign a different amount to each item in your budget, such as installation costs that vary per product.

Prerequisites

Specs must have price per unit and quantity assigned. This information auto-pulls into the Budget tab.

Steps

  1. Go to the Budget tab in your project

  2. Click the Add button

  3. Select Item Level Cost

  4. Enter a label (e.g., "Installation")

  5. Choose Percentage or Dollar amount

  6. Choose whether to add cost to: Unit cost without markup, or Unit cost with markup (if markup exists)

  7. Choose whether this cost is taxable

  8. Click Save

A new column appears in the budget. You can now enter a different amount for each line item.

Tips

  • Toggle between dollar and percentage amounts after creation

  • The "T" indicator means taxable

  • Changes update the line item total on the right side in real-time

  • Prices sync between the Budget tab and spec Pricing tab

Important Notes

  • Items with a lock icon have quantity assigned by area—change quantity in the spec itself

  • Item level costs appear as separate line items in budget reports
