Add Tax and Deposit to Budget

Add tax calculations and deposit/balance tracking to your project budget.

Adding Tax (Method 1: Budget Level)

  1. Go to the Budget tab

  2. Click the Add button

  3. Select Tax

  4. Enter a label (e.g., "Sales Tax")

  5. Choose Percentage or Dollar amount

  6. Enter the percentage

  7. Click Save

This tax applies to all items marked as taxable (indicated by "T"). The tax total appears in the grand total.

Adding Tax (Method 2: Item Level)

  1. Click the Add button

  2. Select Item Level Markup

  3. Name it (e.g., "Tax")

  4. Do NOT mark it as taxable

  5. Click Save

  6. A new column appears—enter tax amounts for each item individually

  7. Toggle between dollar and percentage as needed

Adding a Deposit

  1. Click the Add button

  2. Select Deposit

  3. Choose label: "Deposit" or "Balance"

  4. Choose Dollar amount or Fixed

  5. Click Save

The deposit appears on the right side of the budget summary.

Deleting Tax

Click the trash icon next to the tax line item to remove it.

Generating Reports with This Information

Go to the Reports tab to generate budgets, proposals, and invoices. Use filters to control which information appears.
