Comparison Mode

Why It Matters

When you're creating lifestyle images for clients, the product details have to be perfect. One mismatched logo or wrong color tone can kill a $5,000 project. Comparison Mode lets you verify pixel-perfect accuracy before delivery.

The bottom line: Compare your original product photo side-by-side with the AI-generated result at full resolution—so you never ship work with product inconsistencies.

How It Works

The setup: Upload your product as an ingredient, generate your lifestyle scene, then verify the likeness.

Entering Comparison Mode:

  1. Open your ingredients panel (click the ingredients icon in the header)

  2. Hover over any ingredient thumbnail—the compare button appears in the bottom-left corner

  3. Click the Scale icon to enter Comparison Mode

What happens:

  • Your screen splits 50/50: generated image on the left, original ingredient at full resolution on the right

  • The chat area temporarily hides to maximize your comparison space

  • The panel header shows "COMPARISON MODE" with an exit button

Exiting: Click "Exit Compare Mode" in the header to return to normal view.

Perfect for Freelancers

The scenario: A client hires you to create a lifestyle shot of their Nike Air Max shoes for their e-commerce store.

Your workflow:

  1. Upload the product photo as an ingredient

  2. Generate: "Nike Air Max on urban street, golden hour lighting"

  3. Enter Comparison Mode

  4. Verify the swoosh placement, lace pattern, sole design, and color match the original

  5. Exit if perfect, or regenerate with adjusted prompts if the likeness is off

Why this saves you: Clients don't pay for "close enough"—they pay for accurate product representation. Comparison Mode catches inconsistencies before you submit.

Brand Consistency Check

Another use: Verifying logos and branded elements match brand guidelines.

Upload a brand logo as an ingredient, generate your marketing visual, then enter Comparison Mode to confirm the logo clarity, colors, and proportions are faithful to the original.

Technical Details

Image quality:

  • Normal view shows optimized thumbnails for fast browsing

  • Comparison Mode loads the full-resolution original—no compression, no optimization

  • You see exactly what you uploaded

Screen layout:

  • Desktop only (not available on mobile)

  • Works in both light and dark mode

  • Smooth 300ms transitions when entering/exiting

  • Only one ingredient at a time (no multi-image comparison yet)

Limitations

Current constraints:

  • No zoom controls (use your browser's zoom)

  • No overlay or slider tools for pixel-by-pixel comparison

  • Can't compare multiple ingredients simultaneously

  • Desktop browsers only (Chrome 90+, Safari 14+, Firefox 88+)

Questions?

"Can I compare two generated images?" Not yet. Currently you can only compare an original ingredient with a generated result. For comparing variations, use the grid view in the preview area.

"Why does it hide the chat?" To give you maximum screen space for comparison. The chat area comes back when you exit Comparison Mode.

"Does this work on mobile?" No. The ingredients panel is desktop-only due to screen size constraints.
