Overview
Locate is a powerful feature in DAS that enables users to efficiently import large sets of farm data in bulk, reducing manual entry and ensuring consistency across property records. By using batch imports, users can seamlessly integrate external datasets, such as CRM records or client databases, into DAS for improved property management and reporting.
Why Use Locate?
Batch importing farms and property details into DAS eliminates repetitive data entry and streamlines workflows. This feature is particularly beneficial for:
Insurance and Financial Services: Quickly integrating client-owned properties for risk analysis.
Agribusinesses and Advisors: Consolidating farm portfolios for accurate reporting and decision-making.
Government and Research Institutions: Managing extensive datasets with geospatial accuracy.
Dynamic CRM Updates: Easily update custom fields, farm statuses, and CRM tags to ensure workflows stay up to date without needing manual adjustments for each property.
Locate enables users to quickly assign, update, or modify property classifications, making it ideal for organizations managing frequently changing workflows.
Key Features
CRM ID is Mandatory
Every property must have a CRM ID for batch imports. This ID remains static and is used to track, update, and manage farms over time.
Users should maintain a single, master CSV file to ensure all property updates remain consistent across uploads.
Any new updates to a CRM ID (e.g., address, CRM tag, or classification) will automatically reflect when re-imported.
Geolocation Prioritization
Latitude/Longitude Takes Priority: If both lat/long and address are provided, DAS will default to the lat/long for precise mapping.
Address as a Backup: If no lat/long is found, the address is used instead.
Locate Limitations
Only One Rateable Land Area Per Property: Locate assigns properties to a single rateable area. Farms spanning multiple parcels must be mapped within DAS manually.
Not All Properties Will Match: If a property cannot be linked to a rateable land area, it will be flagged in the output CSV report for manual review.
Where to Find Imported Farms
Once imported, farms appear in the Custom Farms section and can be used immediately for reporting, analysis, and integration with other DAS features.
