The property tab is where you can see all the current information that DAS has on the particular parcel or farm (depending on the layer you have turned on). This will automatically pop out when you select a property/parcel.
Overview
This section provides the key details on the location; this information will appear within the first few pages of DAS reports.
The overview tab is broken down into 5 different sections:
Overview:
Within the first section, you will find ID listed. This is a specific DAS ID that you can search for. It is also a great asset when you are talking to a member of the DAS team. If you are needing some assistance with a property, please provide us with the property ID.
Parcels
You can view the different parcels that make up this farm, you can also see each parcel’s ID as well as each area.
Location
DAS will bring in data about the 3 nearest townships and populations, along with the nearest major urban centre.
Buildings
Locates all roofed buildings (or concrete slabs) that are over 40 hectares squared. Similarly, to the parcel information, here you will find the buildings ID and each area. Please note: if you are wanting the DAS platform to highlight structures that are under 40 ha please reach out on the help icon and we can help you achieve this goal.
Surface Water
You can highlight where on the property there is water. This is a great way to identify the dams and their size on the property.
Photos
Here you can attach photos to this farm/parcel. To add photos, click pick files and then select the photos you want from your device.
Land Use
This pie chart uses data to identify the various human activities that the land is used for. The data was captured with both satellite remote sensing and on-the-ground surveying.
Hovering over each section on the pie chart you can identify the land and percentage each category represents. You can also click show and you can physically see where each section relates.
You can go down the land use tab and implement the same method to each area within:
Remnant Vegetation
Soil Types
Crop ID
For Slope, Elevation, Soil Carbon Content you can see the information by clicking show and then you have the spectrum to read the data that will appear on the map as shown here.
If you are ever wanting to know more about where the information was collected from, hover over the ‘?’ icon. This will provide you with the most up-to-date information we currently have.
Production
This highlights the potential carrying capacity of the farm in either dry sheep equivalent (45kg, 2-year-old Merino), cattle equivalent or adult equivalent. DAS considers climate, soil, and pasture composition as well as rules around the amount of potential feed available. This figure can be changed as required when creating your reports.
Sales
There are 2 ways to add sales in DAS. Firstly, approve the valuer general recorded sales or you can create your own record.
Valuer-General method: any sales that have been recorded will automatically appear in the sales tab. If you agree with the value shown and you want to use it, click approve.
Once you do, you will be able to create a new sales analysis.
Please note, if you click ignore on this value no one else in your company will have access to this data either.
If there is no value or you don’t wish to use the value shown you can always create your own sales analysis in 3 easy steps as shown below:
All previous sales analyses that have been created by yourself or someone in your workgroup will all appear in the sales section.
Climate/Risk
This system will bring in statistics and information about the following information:
Average annual rainfall:
Mapped by CSIRO, using information from 1962 – 2021.
Growing season:
The predominant growing season for the region.
Nearest weather station:
DAS will also let you know the distance in which the property is located from the station.
Annual rainfall deciles:
A chart that shows the long term rainfall trend for the property and compared it to the expected trends in the district. You can click on the graph to open it on another tab and make it bigger.
Monthly rainfall to date:
Tracks the monthly rainfall patterns for the year thus far, compared to typical bands based on district averages. Again, this chart can be made bigger by clicking on it.
Flood risk:
Measured out of 5, with 0 being no inundation detected overtime to 5 equaling permanently or near-annually inundated (over an 8-year period )
Brushfire risk:
Please note, that no properties have a zero value and there is never no risk. The index for these values is from the highest (1) to the lowest (0).
Frost risk:
Represents the average number of days where the minimum temperature is < 0 degrees Celsius, calculated by CSIRO from the years 1962 – 2021.
Drought stress:
Compares the rainfall of the previous month to all rainfall measures of that month since 1900. Deficit measures come as 1 in 10 or 1 in 20 years, meaning a deficit in monthly rainfall in a region occurs on average only every 10 to 20 years.
