How To: Enable Security Key MFA (Windows)

Follow this guide to enable a second authentication method (in the form of a physical security key/fob) for your Dispel account.

Pre-Requisite

You will need a 3rd party security key such as yubikey set up on your device to enable security key MFA.

Configuring Your MFA

  1. Navigate to the Account Settings page by clicking on the account bubble and then Account settings.

  2. Click "Add new device" in the Security keys section near the bottom of the page.

  3. Save your recovery codes in a safe place

    1. The download as .txt document button will save the codes to a text document on your local machine.

    2. Alternatively you can use the copy to clipboard button and paste them somewhere safe of your choosing.

  4. Name your device and click Add new device.

  5. You will get a popup from Windows Security to setup your device.

    1. Click "OK" (the windows messages may be different for different browsers).

    2. *Note: If you are experiencing issues, try a different web browser.

  6. Enter your devices security PIN and click "OK."

  7. If prompted, gently touch your security key device.

  8. Your security key is now setup. You will be prompted to authenticate with your security key on your next login.
