Overview

Dispel supports the ability to connect to a Virtual Desktop with multiple computer monitors. This guide will walk a user through the steps necessary to use this functionality.

This guide assumes you are a Windows user. If you are on a macOS device and would like to use a multi-monitor setup, visit the guide linked below.

Walkthrough

Reserve a VDI

First, reserve a VDI through the normal means outlined in this guide.

Next, click Quick Connect.

  • This will whitelist your local IP address to connect to the VDI.

We will not be using the downloaded RDP file in this scenario.

Launch and Configure Your RDP Application

Now, launch your local RDP application.

  • Right click the windows symbol and hit “run”

  • Type “mstsc.exe” and hit enter

In the Remote Desktop Connection, expand Show Options

Copy & paste your IP and user name from the Dispel console.

Configure the Connection for Multiple Monitors

Click the “Display” tab and check “Use all my monitors for the remote session”.

Connect to your VDI

Click Connect and then paste your password from the Dispel Dashboard when prompted.

You’re now connected! If you need any assistance with multi-monitor support on your computer, please reach out to Dispel at support@dispel.com or use the Intercom bubble in the bottom right.
