Dispel offers the ability to use Bastion to allow Virtual Desktop connections in your web browser rather than needing to use an RDP client on your computer.

This is a feature that must be configured per Virtual Desktop stack by Dispel.

How-to Guide:

If you are a VDI User:

Sign in to the Dispel dashboard. If you don't have access yet, request access (the guide for how to request access can be found here.)

Once you have access:

  • First: copy your password to your clipboard by clicking the purple icon next to your password value

  • Then: click on "access your Virtual Desktop through the browser," as shown in the screenshot below.

This will open up a webpage that looks like the following screenshot:

Type in:

  • Your username, which will always be: guest-user

  • Your password, which you copied to your clipboard earlier

    • on Mac: press 'command + V'

    • on Windows: press 'control + V'

Now, press Login, and you should be connected!

If you are an Admin:

To begin, sign into the Dispel dashboard, navigate to the Stacks page, and then reserve a Virtual Desktop from the stack configured with Browser Links.

Now, under your reserved VDI, click the dropdown arrow, copy your password, and then click Connect by Browser.

Enter the username guest-user, paste your password, and then click Login.

  • to retrieve your password, simply return to your reserved VDI in the Dispel Dashboard, and copy the password value to your keyboard.

You are now connected by browser!
