The Dashboard is the landing page you see when you sign in to Docupath. It summarizes document activity for a time period you choose, so you can track processing volume, the review backlog, and your own documents' progress at a glance.
It combines a strip of headline metrics (the KPI cards) with three charts and a period selector that drives the whole page. Most of the page reflects your organization's activity; one chart, the Workflow Breakdown, reflects only the documents you uploaded.
How It Works
When the page loads, Docupath shows activity for the selected time period (7 Days by default) in two parts: a KPI strip across the top and three charts below. What you can see is governed by your access level, so you only ever see documents you are permitted to see.
The KPI Strip
Five cards summarize the period. Each card also shows how the metric changed versus the equal-length period immediately before it — except under All time, which has no earlier period to compare against and so shows no change indicators.
Card | What it shows |
All documents | Every document the period contains. A document counts here if it was uploaded in the period, or if it was approved, rejected, or validated in the period — so a document uploaded last month and approved this week still appears in this week's total |
Pending review | Documents waiting to be dealt with: those in the review queue, those that failed, and those still being processed. This matches what the Pending tab of Document Review lists for the same period |
Validated | Documents that have been validated (shown only where validation is enabled for you) |
Approved | Documents approved and sent |
Rejected | Documents rejected |
The four status cards are subsets of All documents, and for any period ending now they account for all of it — every document is either waiting, validated, approved, or rejected. For a historical range they can total less: a document uploaded inside the range but approved after it ends is counted in All documents without appearing on a status card.
Change Indicators
On each card, the value is compared against the previous equal-length period (All time excepted, as above):
A green +N% when the metric rose, or an orange -N% when it fell.
0% when the metric is unchanged.
+100% when the metric had no activity in the previous period but has a value now.
No indicator when there was nothing in either period.
The Charts
The three charts sit below the strip:
The trend chart is a line chart of document volume over the period. It is titled after whichever series it is showing — All documents by default. Click any KPI card to filter the line to just that series, and click it again to go back to all of them.
Document Types is a donut chart showing the mix of document types in the period. Each slice is labelled around the ring with its type and share, and the legend beneath lists each type with its document count.
Workflow Breakdown : Individual Uploads is a grouped bar chart showing counts by status (Pending, Reviewed, Approved, Rejected, and Validated where enabled) across time buckets over the period. Reviewed is a running total of the three review outcomes, so it deliberately overlaps the bars beside it and the bars are not meant to be added together. Unlike the rest of the page, this chart shows only the documents you uploaded.
What Each Widget Covers
The scope differs by widget:
Widget | Shows |
KPI cards, trend chart, Document Types | Your organization's documents, according to your access level |
Workflow Breakdown | Only your own uploaded documents, regardless of your role or organization |
For the organizational widgets, what "your organization" means depends on your access: users with organization-wide access see all of the organization's documents, while users limited to specific organizations see those organizations' documents plus their own uploads.
Within that shared scope the three organizational widgets always agree: the slices of the Document Types donut add up to the All documents card, and so does the All documents line on the trend chart.
Reading the Dashboard
To work with the view:
Choose a time period: Last 24h, 7 Days, 30 Days, 90 Days, All time, or a custom date range. Every card and chart updates to that window.
Read the KPI strip and each card's change indicator against the previous equal-length period.
Click a KPI card (for example Approved) to filter the trend line to just that series; click a different card to switch, or the same card again to show every series.
Read the Document Types donut for the organization-wide mix, and the Workflow Breakdown bars to track your own documents through the workflow.
Use the Refresh icon beside the Last updated label to pull the latest numbers, or read the label itself to see how current the data is.
Supported Configurations and Options
Option | What it does | Values |
Time period | Filters every card and chart on the page | Last 24h, 7 Days, 30 Days, 90 Days, All time, or a custom date range (default 7 Days) |
Trend filter | Click a KPI card to show only that series on the trend chart | Any KPI card; click the active card again to clear it |
Refresh | Re-fetches all dashboard data on demand | Refresh icon beside the Last updated label |
Other Technical Specifications
Comparison window: change indicators compare the selected period against the equal-length period immediately before it. A custom range compares against the equal-length window immediately preceding its start date.
Time buckets: every preset up to 90 Days plots one point per day, so the newest point on the chart is always today. Last 24h uses two-hour buckets shown in your browser's local time, and ends with a Now marker. Custom ranges longer than about three months roll up to weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly points to keep the chart readable.
Today's point: the newest point covers only the hours elapsed so far, so it is normally lower than a full day beside it. This is expected and is not a drop in volume.
Workflow Breakdown buckets: the bars are capped at roughly eight and roll up to the widest step needed to stay within that — days, weeks, months, quarters, or years. Bars start where your selected period starts, and a period with no activity still occupies its place on the axis rather than being skipped.
Document Types donut: on a narrow window the share labels around the ring are hidden to give the chart room, and the legend beneath carries the breakdown on its own. It names up to five document types individually, most frequent first. If the period holds five or fewer types, every one of them is named. Other collects anything beyond the fifth type, plus documents that have no type to name — those that failed and those still being processed.
Refresh behavior: the Last updated label in the header updates every 30 seconds, and the dashboard data refreshes in the background every 30 minutes, when you return to the tab, and whenever you use the Refresh icon.
Access requirement: none beyond signing in. The dashboard is the start page for every signed-in user; there is no separate dashboard entitlement to enable. What each person sees inside it is still governed by their access level.
Known Limitations and Edge Cases
Empty period: when there is no activity in the selected period (including a brand-new account), the KPI cards show a dash ("-") and the charts show a no-data or placeholder state.
Workflow Breakdown scope: it reflects only documents you personally uploaded and never includes teammates' or other organizations' documents, even for administrators. There is no option to view the whole organization's workflow on this chart. Its numbers will therefore be smaller than the KPI cards above it, often by a wide margin.
Organization filtering: the organizational widgets (KPI cards, trend, document types) cannot be filtered to a single organization on this page; they follow your overall access level.
Validated visibility: the Validated card, trend series, and workflow bar appear only when validation is enabled for your organization and you have permission to view validated documents. Where it is hidden, validated documents are left out of All documents too, so the figures still reconcile.
Mostly grey donut: if most of the period's documents failed or are still being processed, they have no document type to show and the donut is dominated by Other. Check the Pending review card and Document Review to see what is waiting.
Time zone: all times and chart labels follow your browser's time zone, so a colleague in a different time zone can see different bucket labels for the same activity, and activity near local midnight can fall into an adjacent local day.
