Guide to Scripting Volunteering Opportunities and Organisations for Bulk Upload

Thank you for partnering with us to list your volunteering opportunities and organisations on our platform.

Whats the difference between self serve bulk uploading opportunities and scripting?

They are two different types,

Option 1: Bulk upload opportunties only: the first route is exactly the same as if you were to do it yourself, expect we help you to do it. We will be adding lots of features to improve the self serve so we would recommend using this and giving it a try first! If it´s not working and you need some help, we can step in and do it for you in the back end. To do this please follow the guide on Bulk upload exactly the same, except send us the file to hello@doit.life

Option 2: Bulk upload opportunities and child organisations

The second route is if you are a national organisation and need to invite or manage child organisations, so they have their own accounts and so you can over see data on who and what applied to their roles, as well as your own.

Prioritize Bulk Upload Self-Serve if:

  1. Immediate Control is Essential: If you need immediate control over the data input process and the flexibility to make updates or changes quickly, self-serve is the way to go.

  2. Time Sensitivity: When time is of the essence and you can't afford to wait for manual processing, self-serve allows for faster data entry and updates.

  3. In-House Resources: If you have the necessary resources and expertise within your team to manage the bulk upload process independently, self-serve empowers your team members to take charge without relying on external assistance.

Prioritise Doit to Bulk Upload if:

  1. National organisation: You are a national organisation and you need a more advanced setup to enable reporting across your groups and branches.

  2. Future permissions and brokerage: You would like to future proof the setup to enable permissions for branches and groups and or you broker for organisations or accept applications onbehalf of your groups or child organisations

  3. Accuracy and Quality Assurance: If ensuring accuracy and quality in data entry is paramount, especially for complex or critical data sets, scripted bulk upload, which involves manual entry by our team, might be the better choice.

  4. Limited Internal Capacity: If your team lacks the bandwidth, expertise, or resources to manage the bulk upload process internally, relying on our team's support for scripted upload can alleviate the burden and ensure thoroughness.

To facilitate this process, and if there is more complexity to your roles that we need to do the scripting option, we offer a scripting solution where you can provide us with a file containing all the necessary information.

Below is a step-by-step guide to help you prepare the file for bulk upload:

1. Prepare Your Data

Option 1: Gather all the relevant details, please see and download the templates here.

Option 2: Bulk upload organisations, branches or stores that you manage but need seperate accounts to login to.

If you have branches, properties or groups that are under your national organisation, this need to be listed and referenced to when uploading the roles.

a) If you are national organisation, organisation that needs the same upload as

thats available on the platform please fill in these two spreadsheet's and email us your org name to hello@doit.life

Here is a link to the file needed to be filled in:

For organizations, include information such as name, description, website link, contact details, and logo URL.

For volunteering opportunities, include details such as title, description, date and time, location, and contact information as pointed out in the spreadsheet.

2. Format Your Data File

Create a spreadsheet (e.g., Excel or CSV format) to organize your data and copy the template above. Ensure that each row represents a single organization or volunteering opportunity, and each column corresponds to a specific piece of information as described in the import file field descriptions provided. If you do not have any child organisations related to the opportunities please just reference your main national organisation.

3. Provide Detailed Information

Fill in all the required fields for each organisation and volunteering opportunity. In the file, it states which column are required and which are not.

4. Review and Finalize

Before sending us the file, carefully review the data for accuracy and completeness. Double-check all the details to ensure there are no errors or missing information.

5. Submit Your File

Send the completed file to [Your Contact Email] with the subject line "Bulk Upload - [Your Organization's Name]." In the email, specify whether the upload includes new opportunties, new organizations, or a combination of both to hello@doit.life

6. Await Confirmation

Once we receive your file, our team will process it promptly and ensure that all the organizations and volunteering opportunities are accurately listed on our platform. You'll receive confirmation once the upload is complete, and your opportunities are live for volunteers to explore and engage with.

Additional Tips:

  • If you have any updates or changes to the data after the initial upload, simply send us an updated file with the revisions, and we'll make the necessary updates for you.

  • Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or need assistance at any stage of the process. We're here to help make your experience with our platform as smooth and efficient as possible.

Thank you for your collaboration in providing valuable volunteering opportunities for our community!
