DragonFly assigns a primary state to each contest official. This information will be used for managing reciprocity in DragonFly (for example, how discounts can be applied for out-of-state officials or sweeping registration fees for the NFHS).

By default, a primary state is assigned by the user's physical address; however, in situations where an official works in a state that differs from the one they live in, state administrators can designate a primary state for contest officials.

Updating Primary State From Search Results

Step 1: Search for the User

Using the search tool in "Organizations and People", find the user you need to update. In the below example, we search by DragonFly #. You can also search by name or other information.

Click the "i" icon next to their name to see the user's details.

Step 2: Change The Primary State

In the details view, select the Primary State dropdown in the bottom-right of the dialogue. Search for the association they need to be moved to, then click to select.

Changing The Primary State In The General Information View

You can also update the primary state for an official in their general information page.

Step 1: Open The Official's Profile

To access this, select their name in your search result to open their profile.

Step 2: Access Their General Info Page

Click their information window on the "Get Ready" tab. Then select the "General Info" tab.

Step 3: Update Their Primary State

Finally, to update their primary state, select the Primary State dropdown and search for the organization you need to move them to. Click the result to make your selection.
