How to Add a Link for an Item in a Proposal?

Instructions on how to add an external link to a line item description on a proposal.

1. Once in the Proposal you want to edit click on Add Line Item.

A link can be added to an existing line item or to a new line item. If adding to an existing line item click on the line item you want to edit. If adding to a new line item click Add Line Item. For this example we will add from a new line item, but the process is exactly the same for both.

Once in the Proposal you want to edit click on Add Line Item.


2. Click on Select a product or service.

If editing an existing line item skip to step 4.

3. Select the item you would like to add.

4. In the description select existing words or add new then select the "chain link" icon in the editing tools.

For this example we will use Brand of Paint, but this works for any part of the description. You can highlight an existing set of words or add a new set of words to hyperlink.

5. Paste the link in the URL box. In the Display Text box type what you would like to show on the proposal.

The Display Text is what will be displayed on the proposal and to the customer. Product name or ID is often used here.

6. Click on OK to save.

7. If you want to add multiple links or a new link simply create a new bullet point and repeat previous steps.

8. To see it from the customer view click View Portal.

9. Scroll down on the proposal to find the hyperlinks.

If you click on the hyperlink it will take you to the exact product. If it does not go back and check the URL for accuracy.
