Creating your first install (build) proposal

This article will show you how to create hardscape and softscape proposals in Duranta.

Updated over a week ago

An install proposal or estimate is a document that you send to a landscaping lead or client explaining what services you will perform for them at what price. Typical install services include installing patios, pavers, driveways, planter beds, retaining walls and plant installations.

1. Tap the Create icon at the bottom of your screen

2. Select “Proposal” from the bottom sheet

3. Input the Lead or Client's name and information.

Next choose a property

(Optional) if the property boundary doesn't match what you want, follow these steps 👉 to adjust the lot

(Optional) review the AI analysis to get detailed AI generated property measurements

4. Click on Add Services, then Add Install service

Select which type of Install you are doing:

  • Beds - use for planted beds, mulch pits, topsoil and other volume calculations

  • Surfaces - use for patios, driveways and other hardscapes

  • Walls - use for retaining walls or fences

  • Turf - use for artificial grass plantings

  • Plants - use for trees, shrubs and all other plantings

5. Once you select your service type, draw on the map.

Beds and surfaces draw areas, walls draw lines, and plants are points

💡 Pinch / expand the screen with two fingers to zoom in and out of the site

6. Click on Done - a form will appear

7. Name the install, and tap on Add Material

💡Pro tip: this name will show up on your proposal, so we recommend something descriptive (e.g. planter bed, or entrance driveway)

8. Input your material price, your price margin, and other details.

💡Note: your price margin is how much profit you want to make on your material.

💡(Optional) You can choose a positive or negative buffer to the amount of material by toggling on “Add extra material”

9. Tap update material - you will return to the Install page

Tap on the carrot (<) to return to the Add Services page

10. When done with your Services tap on "Review and Send"

Click on "Preview" to make sure the proposal matches your expectations
