Prepaid packages and subscriptions

Sell multiple appointments up front and let customers redeem the remaining bookings later

Written by Ray M

Easy Appointment Booking has two ways to sell several sessions at once. Prepaid packages is the one to use today. Subscriptions are a older feature that existing stores still run, but new ones can no longer be created in the app.

Which one you want

Prepaid packages. The customer buys a set number of sessions and books them all afterwards from their balance. Use this for a 10-class pass, a block of treatments, or any offer where the customer does not need to pick a first date at checkout. This is the supported option and the one to choose for anything new. See Prepaid Packages for the full setup.

Subscriptions, previously called bundles. The customer books the first session at the moment of purchase, then books the rest later from a personalised link. Existing subscriptions keep working exactly as they always have. They can no longer be created from the dashboard.

Create a prepaid package

Prepaid packages are available on Pro Plus and above.

  1. Create or choose the Shopify product that customers will buy.

  2. In Easy Appointment Booking, go to Dashboard and click Create a new event.

  3. Choose Booking package, the third option.

  4. Select the product, then set how many sessions the package includes and which service they can be redeemed against.

  5. Save.

The service holds the dates and times. The package only holds the number of sessions. That is why the package setup never asks you for availability.

What your customer experiences

  1. They buy the package through your normal Shopify checkout.

  2. They receive a confirmation email with a booking link.

  3. They open the link and see the live availability for the service you chose.

  4. They pick a time and confirm, with no further payment.

  5. One session comes off their balance. They repeat until the sessions run out.

Managing an existing subscription

Subscription events show a Subscription badge on the dashboard, and their bookings carry the same badge in the Bookings tab. Open one to see how many redemptions have been used and the link the customer uses to book again.

Cancellation and reschedule cutoffs apply to these bookings in the same way as any other, so check those settings before making changes.
