Your investor portal gives investors, prospects and other stakeholders secure access to fund information based on the permission levels you set.
There are four ways to grant someone access, depending on your workflow.
1. Create and invite new contact
If you are adding someone new to your CRM and want to give them portal access immediately:
Go to Contacts > Add contact.
Fill in their details and assign fund permissions.
Click “Create and invite to portal”.
This will:
Create the contact record.
Set Portal access to ‘Yes’.
Send them an email invitation automatically.
Note the email content will be based on the invitation email template that is set up in your portal.
2. Invite an existing contact from their record
If the contact already exists in your CRM but doesn’t yet have portal access:
Open the contact’s record.
Click Invite to portal.
This will set the contact’s Portal access to ‘Yes’ and send them an invitation email automatically.
Note the email content will be based on the invitation email template that is set up in your portal.
3. Enable portal access without sending an invitation
If you would like to let investors register on their own (for example, via your next email campaign):
Go to Contacts.
Set the Portal access field to ‘Yes’ for relevant contacts directly in the table by double clicking the cell or hitting enter and using keyboard arrows.
Make sure the relevant contacts have appropriate fund permissions assigned. You can set those in the table directly or by clicking Edit all details and permissions on the contact’s page.
Now, when those contacts receive one of your email campaigns containing links to your investor portal, clicking any portal link will automatically take them through the registration flow. The registration flow is quick and easy and invites them to set their password and verify their domicile and investor type (if enabled in your portal security settings).
4. Approve an access request
If someone requests access directly from your investor portal:
Go to Contacts
If you have any pending access requests, a banner will be shown at the top of the contacts page. Click Manage their requests.
Click on the contact you want to review.
Review information and set relevant permissions.
Click Grant access.
This will set the contact’s Portal access to ‘Yes’ and send them an invitation email automatically.
Note the email content will be based on the invitation email template that is set up in your portal.
Note that if you cannot see the Grant access button on an access request it is because this contact already has access to your investor portal. You can email them a link to your portal and they can either log in or use the reset password functionality if they forgot their password.
